You haven’t cleared anything up.

The SF vote has remained steady, all that has happened is the establishment parties swings has been wholly internal. SF are down 1.5% in first pref in this vote and that swing has been taken up by Pringle.

FF’s gain has been taken from FG/Lab, the figure back that up.

Woah my point on Donegal curing vs the establishment has been proven.

I don’t need to make further points. There’s no arguing against it.

You claimed that the 2011 swung to SF was due to a republican swung from FF. I said it was an anti-government vote.

The swung back to FF wasn’t a republican swing, as you have admitted.

Ergo FF support in Donegal is not dependent on republicans.

No, no, no.

You said it was “anti-establishment” - not anti-government, anti-establishment.

And what you meant by anti-establishment has been the three governing parties that have been in powers since the state’s inception - FF, FG, Labour.

Don’t dare atttempt backtrack now.

The republican vote in Donegal has remained static, that’s another fact.

Don’t dare speculate on what I meant. The establishment is the government.

The original point you made was that SF prospered at FF’s cost due to them having a traditionally ‘republican’ backing.

We’ll the SF support has held and FF have gained at the expense of FG and, to a much lesser extent Labour.

Take the donegal thread somewhere else ballbag

We interrupt the coverage of who will govern this country for the next 5 years to bring you… mass. This country is a parody of itself.

You’re using two completely different terms now. You have changed from anti-establishment to anti-government to suit your argument, I never heard anti-government from you until now - happy coincidence?

You’re talking about swings from SF. What swings? The vote has pretty much remained static, a small swing from SF to Pringle.

If you look at the combined 2011 Donegal vote

FG - 25.3%
FF - 20%
Labour - 7.6%
SF 28.8%
Pringle 7.1%

Total establishment 2011 - 52.9%
Total republican 2011 - 35.9%

Total 2016

FG - 16.25%
FF - 31%
Lab - 0
SF - 27.5%
Pringle - 8.5%

Total establishment -47.25%
Total republican - 36%

The republican vote is identical to the last time round, the only thing that has changed has been an intra-establishment swing between FF and FG/Labour.

Lads, fuck off…

How many seats left to call? 50ish?

OK DO FF GO IN WITH FG CAN IT BE DONE:pencil2:

OR SHOUD FF HOLD BACK???:triangular_ruler:

Unless you want another election in April which will throw up the exact same scenario as today.

My best guess is they will do some kind of deal to get them through Octobers budget and then see after that. Long term they will probably merge as what this election has done is draw a firm line between right and left.

Alright sort Mattie McGrath elected in Tipp.

He was 10/11 to take a seat. Knew I should have backed him at that price.

That cunt Kelly is safe now too, sadly.

Iam Not so sure bud

Well whats the alternative chief? All SF want to do is shout from the opposition benches and will try and manipulate the electorate into making them the largest party in five years.

It will be at least three elections before SF are the largest party, assuming they don’t have another split.

I’m reporting live from the RDS here. Dub bay south into squeaky bum territory. Murphy and Ryan are safe. Then nothing between Lab, FG and FF for the last seat. Currently distributing Andrews votes.

Update, Jim O’Callaghan is very confident he’ll take it for FF
