General election 2016 results HUB

2011 they got one seat in a four seater which they lost through Hayes going to Europe. They would have been eyeing two in the new five seater especially given the areas added to the constituency are middle class ones.

We get the govt we deserve. That FF have been allowed slither back in on their bellies is a damning indictment of the people of this country, and above all else, Fine Gael.

I had them lower than 9 initially but may revise.

The SF ira fans have taken a kick in the stones.

I think theyā€™ll break over ten possibly even over 12, based on the apparent strength of the transfers between FG and Labour. If FG are struggling for second seats itā€™s quite possible that their transfers will push a few Labour fellas in. Thatā€™s what Iā€™m hoping. Freaked Iā€™m working tomorrow but hopefully will be able to follow it all.

Its a remarkable feat for a government elected with a 60-seat majority five years ago and faced with no coherent opposition over the last five years to make such an utter balls of this.

Other point to consider - where FF ran one candidate they might have surplus that will go somewhere.

On that IND figure Iā€™d be taking Pringle to hold on - 2 SF, 2 FF and Pringle for me.

Iā€™d expect Cork South West to elect an independent on that figure also. The INDs that I have predicted to get in should all be safe.

For FF Iā€™d be giving them a second seat in Wexford and a seat in Dublin North West on top of what Iā€™ve already given them.

Depends where the transfers from independents go too. Ill wander down the count centre in Meath West although itā€™ll be SF/FG and then probably FF although Cassells isnā€™t popular.

The Cyprian Brady effect.

What time is RTE TV coverage starting tomorrow?

Iā€™m not sure why Kenny stuck around so long, he should have left once the IMF packed up and walked away a hero. The recriminations within FG will be enormous.

I do wonder if this is part of a trend thoughā€¦can political parties still be effective in this day and age? Mick Wallace can garner an enormous profile nationally by acting the maggot and can neglect doing the normal niggly things an Indo normally has to do in a constituency to keep the locals sweet.

Went home to vote today and the brother was voting for the first time and the last thing my ould lad said before we left the house was,ā€œWhatever you do, donā€™t vote for Sinn Fein.ā€ A comment repeated in thousands of hardworking families across the country Iā€™d say

History is full of those who overstayed their welcome. Perhaps he felt he deserved a chance shape the future after believing he saved it.

Nash in Louth is one that looks good based on the low FG figure. Expect Fitzpatrickā€™s transfers to push him over the line as he may be eliminated before FF2 there.

But it wonā€™t be a help in Limerick City or likely Dubln Fingal because these are likely to be direct FG/LAB battles for the last seat.

Galway West could be interesting one and Iā€™d give Labour a chance here based on vote splitting.

Iā€™ll also stick with McNamara in Clare and Sherlock in Cork East to be pushed over the line by FG transfers.

Ryan will get in Fingal.
