General election 2016 results HUB

There was a noticeable swing back towards Fine Gael in the November 1982 election, presumably from people being pissed off at Fianna Fail’s incompetence bringing about a third election in 18 months.

FF should beware that lesson if they decide to force another election in the near future.

The question here is would having two Cork men as the leaders of the two main political parties affect our nations credibility?

Forgot Richard Bruton. He’s paid his penance and looks the smartest choice by far as he has the most ability and experience by far of those candidates. He’s seen as very strong on economic matters. He’s 62 which is young enough.

Also doesn’t have the same degree of dislikeableness as his brother.

Not much as I remember. Couple of seats.,

Deputy Simon Harris to continue his ascent too by taking on a key front bench position. A future Taoiseach, no doubt.

No news. Recount in Longford-Westmeath starts at 3pm.

It’ll be a long, long time before we know anything new about Dublin Bay North.

Talk that 380 votes could be disqualified in Wexford. I thought a full recount was to take place but it appears that’s not even certain now.

I think the lovely Kate could also rise rapidly within the Fine Gael ranks.

A real standout amongst their small intake of new TDs.

I’m Wexford is like many other constituencies whereby voters got two polling cards if they’ve changed address.

In a situation as tight as 52 votes early and often voters could make a significant difference.

A future Taoiseach and a current cunt.

A few techncial questions:

  1. there is a cabinet meeting tomorrow, can Alex White attend?
  2. The St Patricks Day visits, will this go-ahead, and who makes the call of who are where?

the last government, including ministers who may have lost their seats, are in-situ until a new government is formed

Will be Leo or Bruton. Coveney hasn’t a hope i’d say, he has not been that good in Agriculture. Frances Fitzgerald would be a disaster as leader.

From what I hear Varadkar eats/sleep/drinks politics and has high ambitions to become Taoiseach some day. Kenny isn’t going to last the next few months; FG will have a heave and with a few of his cronies now gone he (Kenny) doesn’t have the same backing as he did before.

That much is right. Hon Tipp and hon Fianna Fail

A once great power who have declined, but are still able to rouse themselves out of their slumber occasionally before falling away again.

Supported by thick, ignorant muckroasters.

Traditionally held the whip hand over their hated rivals, who ironically are extremely similar to themselves in both ideology and mindset.

But they’re now living firmly in their rivals’ shadow.

 rattled. Fianna Fail are really in Fine Gael’s shadow alright. The worst period in the history of the party and they’re still only a few seats behind Fine Gael. Also, better to be supported by hard working people than by scumbag wasters like the party you support. The county you’re from/the party you support could only dream of winning as much/being as popular as Tipp/Fianna Fail

CAN YOU SAY ANTHUNG WITHOUT THE IRA BEING IN IT:eyeglasses:

D’Arcy and Kehoe elected in Wexford after the recheck reduced the deficit between Kehoe and Mythen (Sinn FĂ©in) from 52 to 31. It appeared to be a recheck of all Kehoe and Mythen bundles of votes rather than a full recount of everyone’s from scratch - not sure how Sinn FĂ©in feel about that. It results in my original seat prediction coming to fruition but I didn’t think Mythen would go this close - a very respectable showing for him.
