If they dont, then there should be 80+ on the other side with Renua, Shane Ross etc
If they do, we will have a big problem! Or FF will have a big problem.
In all seriousness, Michael Noonan must surely, at this stage, be considered the greatest ever Minister for Finance this country has ever seen or is ever likely to see.
One could also argue, given the situation they inherited, that this government is up there with the best of them also.
I think it means âeven bigger gombeen than Official FF or FGâ.
How many independents can realistically be involved in a minority government without it being a recipe for collapse?

Recovery? Really - Who has recovered exactly? Most of our skilled workers had to emigrate - as did most of our college leavers over the last 5 years - A large number of young semi/unskilled also had to do the same⌠They promised no taxes and rowed back the minute they got in⌠our health system is an absolute disaster and has deteriorated rapidly under their watchâŚ
Leaving all that, and more, aside - what have they done that a dog with a mallet up his hole couldnât have done? The only recovery I see is for upper/large income earners -the rest are just about making do.

Itâs hilarious to hear lads giving credit to Noonan for the recovery in the economy. An ancient school teacher from county limerick came up with the magic economic formula, FFS. The first three years he kept saying that his hands were tied and he could do nothing, but now takes all the credit. Historically low oil prices and a weak euro is the reason for our mini recovery, which the government had nothing to do with. We could be fucked again in six months if these two factors change.

The Blueshirt contingent on here should have a look at the things the Troika had control of, and a look at the list of things the Government had control of. The former list is discomforting reading.
The latter list is fuck up after fuck up. The health system, Irish water, Commissioner Callanan, direct provision, Seanad âreformâ, funding home help and carers, the banking inquiry, zero DĂĄil debate, guillotined legislation, the housing crisis.
Fuck Fine Gael.

As others have said, it would be great if we could have a proper left/right choice in Ireland. Labour fucked that up good and proper though the useless cunts.
As to who I hope get in, itâs a difficult question to answer because there arenât many obvious unions outside of the incumbents. Anyone but Fine Gael for me.
If we canât have a coalition headed by SF then I hope Labour discover some spine and donât go in with FG again, at least weâd have a leftwing opposition and set up a proper choice for the next time round. Or if Labour got wholly annihilated as a party that would be a good result too.
