General Election 2016

FG will cobble some sort of rainbow coalition together, hard to see it lasting a full term though.

Labour are against anything going full term

They had Eileen Dunne interviewing people in a vox pop in Donegal on the news the other night. She asked one lady what the biggest issue facing the electorate was. Abortion was the answer. If we could just get rid of abortion out of Ireland, everything else would fall into place, she said.

What on earth are you talking about? I wasn’t responding to anyone or anything. It’s nothing to do with whataboutery which seems to be a favourite term for you. Ironic, given you responded to my criticism of Labour with an attack on SF for some reason.

Labour’s “stance” on the Special Criminal Court would be laughable if it wasn’t so dangerously reactionary. Unfortunately it rather sums up the party theses days. They’re all about trying to knock those to the left of them, it’s obsessive.

Seems to be the go to term from the FG/Labour online campaign judging by the journal comments section.

Whataboutery is important in terms of balance.

It’s a truly wonderful anomaly of actual life up here.

An oasis on mentalness.

It’s a moral quagmire up there.

A good campaign manager would argue to have these included as they show clear intent.

Were they left out or is there someone arguing that they should have been?

Any returning officer with half a brain should have permitted these.

Labour are fucked & really at this stage are going to be irrelevant. What I can’t understand is SF consistently going after them.

If SF are really going gain traction going forward would they not be better off going after FG & FF? All their talk is continually about Labour when in reality they face massacre like the Greens did.

Labour claimed to be the left.

Labour are more in their target market.

Does it matter a fuck though? They are ruined. SF need to go after FF IMO. Collins today made a major gaff & SF should be siezing the initiative on that comment. He is one arrogant cunt.

I think the ruling said the that those voters who started their picks with a 4 and continued, 5,6,7, etc. should have their vote discounted. I think that is an eminently sensible decision by our Supreme Court.

It does. Sinn Fein want to decimate Labour and take their place as the leading left party which they will do. The further they can force the likelihood of a FG/FF coalition the better in the long term. Creating a clear left/right split in Irish politics for the first time is to borrow the parlance, a gamechanger.

If you aren’t smart enough to figure out how to vote, you aren’t entitled to vote

The ruling should have been that those who started their picks with a 4 and continued 5,6,7 etc should be removed from the voters register.
