Interesting listening to Varadkar on Matt Cooper there discussing health. He was at pains to point out that all the parties promises were based on projections assuming the economy continues to grow and who was to be trusted with that. As all the polls show FG with a higher level of trust in managing the economy itâs an understandable tack.
I hadnât realised that SF were increasing employers PRSI to 15% either. Sure a 5-10% increase in the wage bill of every company in the country will definitely help their business, incentivise investment, encourage them to employ more and to pay better.
Wonderful economics from SF. It comes from employee pockets before they miss it or see it. Are they raising the benefits for people who worked and lose their job by 15 per cent too or will it be a raise across the board for all SW recipients.
Unbelievable fucking economics.
A vote for SF will have us all on the boat again but not to the UK as it will set back Anglo Irish relations by 30 years
A vote for FG in the last election had the Irish taxpayers paying the debts of bondholders who speculated on the market, failed and the Irish taxpayer now contributes to their caviar fund.
A vote for FG in the last election means that Denis OâBrien is still an untouchable leech on Irish society.
Youâll be glad to hear my mother-in-law has decided to voter for Boxer due to his sterling work during the floods, despite declaring that she didnât want a load of independents in the DĂĄil (Boxer is really Fianna Fail but could never get a nomination with Mary OâRourke in the same town).
If has the same effect as all the other proposals to tax high earners from all parties. Increase cost of employment and increase capacity for public spending or to support other tax reductions.
Itâs a very modest measure and was misleadingly presented in the original post.

My immediate hunches from this are that Catherine Martin of the Green Party is very much a dark horse for a seat in Dublin Rathdown and that Trevor OâClochartaigh of Sinn Fein will have a huge battle to get a seat in Galway West.
