I think the traditional parties are rattled by the apparent SF surge.
You had Seán O’Rourke basing almost his entire Mary Lou McDonald interview yesterday around whether Gerry Adams was in the ra or not.
The debate last night saw Varadkar mention SF’s Special Criminal Court stance, Martin raising the murder of Jerry McCabe and both raising the “unelected” and shadowy Ard Comhairle members overseeing SF policy.
It was all very 2011 presidential election debate.
That might have made voters waver then, but I sense many people are sick of these two parties with their little confidence and supply charade relying on the same old talking points to try to delegitimise SF. It’s boring and it’ll hopefully work against them.

It’s 22 years since the GFA, when we all agreed to move on… But the political oligarchs and establishment shills won’t have any of it… They want to keep all the pie for themselves… Not only do they insult the nationalists in the north, but they also insult a sizeable amount of SF voters in the south. Most people under 30 know fuck all of thr troubles and are ready to live in the 21st century…and it’s no wonder FFG are so out of touch with young people, both parties want to debate the 70s/80s.

Find out what percentage of the irish population were immigrants in 1995 and what percentage were in 2019, and see how that increase relates to the rest of Europe like a good chap. The point i was making but you are far too stupid to comprehend is that the government fell down by not reacting to this rise in population with more housing. Also more hospitals, public transport options, prison spaces et al. I didn’t blame immigrants, hard working decent immigrants are very welcome, not least because being hard working and decent puts them two steps ahead of many salt of the earth types like yourself who have wallowed in their council houses for generations.
