And a lot to be lost from building social housing near people that do vote

That’s been one of the most galling things in recent years, politicians of all hues crying crocodile tears about social housing/homelesness etc and then shamelessly opposing it in local constituencies for a variety of spurious reasons.

Large chunks of the electorate are no better with a general view to “Fix housing” but it better not cost me any money or come near my house

A fellow told me recently you can’t throw a stick in Sligo without hitting a McSharry.

More sticks should be thrown in Sligo.

She’s in the right constituency. Day of a rugby international - the goodwill will carry her home.

Wasn’t it Pat Rabbitte who skewered the loud Marc when saying, to his face “maybe it is true that talent skips a generation”

His behaviour around the cervical check scandal was as reprehensible and politically cynical as it gets.

Alan Dillon is the FG candidate in the Castlebar/South Mayo region. He’ll do well enough I’d say. Mulherin there as well for the Ballina area.

The McSharrys are almost exclusively North Leitrim folk. However the MacSharry tribe are the Sligo part of the clan. Surprisingly, there’s a difference.
@Massey will explain the relationship later on.

A lot of people didn’t get to see that programme about the Showbands Art.

im sure they didnt and RTE could easily have shown it when there was another, of the multitude, repeat on instead.

I think that would be fairly standard during an election.

for RTE to engage in partisan activities? absolutely

Take off the tinfoil hat there - Every political party think RTE is against them and easy on the others.

Once an election has started, RTE have to walk a very careful line in terms of their news shows as you well know.

yes they do, but that does not include pulling already scheduled shows, as well you know.

not that the BAI would ever do anything about it anyway

I’m looking forward to the future. Anyone else giddy about having a future to look forward to?

A past to look backwards at is a cunt of a thing.
