SF doesn’t have all the tricolour-waving as their candidates are deemed elected like in previous elections. Looking like a directive from head office, this used to annoy people in the past as disrespectful to brath na hÉireann…
Sinn Fein IRA with tricolours in count centres is a worrying reminder that Ireland is not immune to growth of nationalism we have seen elsewhere with Brexit and the growth of other strongly nationalist parties around Europe.

Looking at the tally in Donegal, Joe McHugh is another Minister who could be in trouble. He’s on 10% with a running mate on 4%. Fianna Fáil polled poorly on 21% but McConalogue and Pat the Cope have polled fairly evenly.

Pearse Doherty will not get the most votes in the country. It looks like Denise Mitchell could get it, over 21k apparently.
Word is that Pearse has got 20,909 votes. here’s the Donegal tally - I think McHugh FG could be in difficulty - MacLochlainn is over the quota aswell, and Pringle will do well on that massive SF surplus.
This is a great victory for Nationalists.
Not really grabbing the democratic process is Mr. Egan.
