For a surplus achieved by first preference it’s a pro rata distribution based on all votes.
But when a surplus is achieved from transfers in it is those transfers in that are then proportionately redistributed and the original first preference votes for that candidate are ignored.

Wexford seats gonna go to wire. Dogfight between Darcy, Kehoe, Murphy and Byrne for the last 2 seats. McDonald and Sheehan’s transfers may well see Byrne safe but Seanie and Waddings transfers could put Verona well clear of the FG two. FG could end up with no seat in Wexford for the first time in my memory
