General Election 2020 Hub

Best result for SF is for FG to pip FF, this doesn’t seem likely though.

Will Coveny go in for the kill now?

Collins (FF) eliminated in Limerick City, delighted for him.

Jan O’Sullivan hanging in by the skin of her teeth, needs to get good transfers from Collins to stay ahead of Maria Byrne (FG), and then get good transfers from her. Not beyond the realms of possibility but her two other opponents Leddin (Green) and Daly (Ind) are also transfer friendly you’d think. Daly’s to lose. But still up in the air, possibility of a sneaky green seat.

Sinn Fein won the election. Pat Kenny just said it so it must be true. Simon Coveny just said it was a really bad day for FG. You need to turn on a wireless

I see the radiant Holly Cairns is a niece of the great Tom Doorley

For those of us still working for a living (but not for long hopefully) - could someone give us the latest projected seat numbers?

Not just the yoof though. A lot of 30-40, 40-50

That is an awful disappointment .

It’s a landslide win for SF who will have 38 seats.
FG have been decimated and will get 35.

FF will have 42.

Bertie - third view in FF - time to do real opposition. Let Mary Lou at it.

It should be a TFK rule that a picture is posted of Holly when she is mentioned.

It’s easy to be wise in hindsight but it’s fair to say that FG ran too many candidates and so far have left seats behind them in Cork SW, Dun Laoghaire and Waterford as a consequence. There will be more before the day is out. They ran 3 candidates in Clare and are clinging on for a seat. Really poor electoral strategy

That’s youth in my eyes.

:grinning:

It’s fair to say no one got their numbers right. FF & FG ran too many and SF too few.

The fifth count result from Kildare South:

Cathal Berry (IND) 6,876
Martin Heydon (FG) 9,010
Fiona O’Loughlin (FF) 8,177
Patricia Ryan (SF) 11,295
Mark Wall (LAB) 6,984
Fiona McLoughlin Healy (IND) 4,471 Excluded
