General Election 2020 Part 2

Won’t be the only Shinner peddling the Zionist conspiracy either.

I expect a new poster to come along and deflect from it soon.

Hon Reada, stick it to the Zionist scum.

There’s not a thing the public can do about it mate.

Fuck sake. She needs to keep her trap shut, and her nose out of other people’s business. Jeremy corbyn is utterly irrelevant to SF. All she is doing is handing bullets to ffg and the msm.

No offence flatty but I thing you haven’t grasped the mood in the country at the moment

I think this is a great opportunity, but they need to let mlmd manage the message.
The fact remains, if ffg form a coalition, there is absolutely nothing Joe public can do to stop a full term short of storming the bastille which they won’t.
I have watched with increasing disquiet the way irish govt policies have aped the worst of the American right wing on the two major issues, health and housing.

I’d say he’d much prefer to be in opposition firing rockets with no responsibility than playing second fiddle. He will do what he thinks best for FG’s position, nothing else, same as in government he only gave a shite about people he saw as potential FG voters and fuck everyone else.

Ha, she’ll definitely not be the only one either!

I wonder will Shinnerbots online move from whataboutery on the Blueshirts to Charlie Flanagans dad next.

I reckon hell do what is best for Leo. His shafting of Coveney would tend to back this up

Lolz

Same as the direction the Tories have led the UK, more enabled by Blair’s moving labour to the centre. It’s heartening to finally see people waking up to this in Ireland and a coherent left wing vote beginning to coalesce in response.

He didn’t shaft him, he played politics and won. He then gave him an easy position to look Statesmanlike as Foreign Affairs Min!

One of the most disappointing things about Varadkar in power is that he has been too nice and all things to everyone. He hasn’t shown the grittiness that he showed when trying to get power. Shame really.

Tory party policy in the UK is utterly irrelevant here. Not sure why you brought this up?

Enough said.

I dislike Varadkar, but how did he “shaft” Coveney? There was a leadership contest and they both went for it and he won it. He then gave Coveney an important and prominent role.

Eh all FG have done in power on health is give the workers more money and gave more GP cover to children, they haven’t changed much. Slainte Care is the change and it is agreed by all parties and is a mile from the US.

Ireland is not close to the US on housing either I’m sorry. This is more gibberish. In fact one of the policies being pursued in Los Angelas (home for all) is turning into a short term disaster for the city. They don’t even have basic hostel facilities there and have thousands of genuinely rough sleepers. We have a couple of hundred.

I agree leo didn’t shaft coveney. But Simon did win the popular vote with the grass roots and a totally unfair weighting system reversed the result.

Well he did. He won the votes of his colleagues and coordinated the announcements.

That’s basic stuff. Coveney has looked good on Brexit but looked like a right lemon when the leadership contest happened.

The rules of party are the rules and every political party in the Western World has their own type, some don’t even give a percentage to the members and base it all on parliament.

FG are similar to the Tories in their outlook on a lot of things.

You talked about American policies. We’ve had over 40 years of “Washington consensus” style governance in the western world, the UK and the USA in particular. Ireland stuck between the two and heavily influenced.

We’re now seeing that that economic model has not led to the benefits it promised in the USA the UK or elsewhere. Economic growth yes but also massive growth in inequality and great disaffection. Lots of the received wisdom that we have believed for many years is now firmly disproved or being re-evaluated at best. I think the new movements towards the left are an awakening and growing response to that.

Eh are you saying SlĂĄintecare, which the Soc Dems were heavily involved with conceiving, is that?
