General Election 2020 Part 2

Is everyone getting paid at the moment? Old and new TDs?

Theyā€™re all getting the Covid

John McGuinness could possibly give FF a boost were he to take over. Straight talking and heā€™d appeal to the core FF vote.

Martinā€™s u-turn on the 8th Amendment sums him up. His views depend on the prevailing winds at that moment in time. Little enough backbone.

Thatā€™s been a very successful FF policy since the foundation of the state to be fair

I think Big Jim will criticise MMā€™s refusal to go in with SF and that way he will unite the different wings of the party behind him.

SF will probably break even or make marginal gains ā€¦ FF and Greens will lose out. I expect the SF bashing to start any day now.

Big Jim will lose his seat to Kate Oā€™Connell if thereā€™s another election

An election and an All-Ireland final on Christmas week would be superb.

Was the FF policy of no coalition with SF endorsed at Ard Fheis ??

Well all the more motivation for him to go in with SF then.

Big Jimā€™s on record as saying he wouldnā€™t serve in a Government with SF so for that reason heā€™s fucked. The national interest is the best crutch available currently but Oā€™Cuiv is correct in his assessment, a coalition with the Blueshirts is akin to a pint of Roundup - Fatal.

JOC has already gone back on that and was criticizing MM for his pre-election stance. The fact that JOC was largely responsible for crafting that pre-election stance wonā€™t matter, I think JOC has reached a point where he either goes for the throne or heā€™s done completely because like you said, he canā€™t run another GE this year.

Lol. Thatā€™s pretty much the FF philosophy for the last 40 years.

There really needs to be an election with new mainfestos to reflect the economic reality .

that is just it, even with FG , SF gains hard to see a government in that scenario as well, still stalemate

Will the independents get riddled at the next election?

ROD could be in trouble in Limerick county to get re elected as he did so by the skin of his teeth really versus a poor FG candidate in Tom Neville. Tom has moved on to pastures new (acting) so surely FG will have a new running partner to run alongside Oā€™Donovan, but who? There is a gap in the market for someone from the east to hoover up votes there, all the current TDā€™s and those in contention last time are/were West Limerick based. Also the SF candidate did fuck all campaigning last time and he was in contention for a while to take the third seat behind Oā€™Donovan and Collins, so therein lies another big danger to ROD.

@backinatracksuit

Why? - Theyā€™ll just move stuff around and peddle the same horseshit in a different name ffs.
