General Election 2020 Part 2

Hopefully pudgie has a run at it again

Did it stop?

For a couple of weeks yeah — but it looks like they are back on the table now… shur you’ve simpletons here who’d rather Mick Martin Taoiseach just to wind SF supporters up… that’s the kind of idiotic country we live in.

Maybe it appeared so because sadly SF allowed themselves become an irrelevance by showing little or no ambition to govern.

In fairness Mary Lou has been hiding under the bed for three months so that hasn’t helped

Hopefully she stays there.

She says she’s gonna be Taoiseach some day. She’ll need to come out from under the bed before then you’d feel

Says your man

Why would Sinn FĂŠin go for that though?

A similar arrangement to the proposed FF/FG/SF for them would just leave the current “big” 3 parties in place. FG, like SF now, would be confident of big gains next time out as the only real opposition. SF leaving themselves open to however the next government is perceived.

I know that the chance for “legitimacy” in coalition appealed to them 12 months ago but they have the chance to be one of the big two now.

As an aside, it is surprising that FF didn’t knife Martin in the term of the last Dáil. The poll numbers were never great.

The poll numbers for FF were decent up to January 2020 . Then people realised that they were effectively an arm of the government under C&S .

Not really imo

FG were the ones particularly hammered at the election vs what polling would have indicated

If there was a credible alternative they might have. The other options are fairly uninspiring.

That’s the issue I guess. They tried to bring some women through from the 2014 elections on and failed really.

FF are seen as 1950s Ireland …

FG are light years ahead of them in how they diversified their ranks over the last 10 or so years.

You ok bro?

Were the Greens here last week not saying that all their biggies were in the Programme for Government? How could they even contemplate the opportunity of passing up on governing for the next 5 years with only a decade tops left to save the planet.

If there is another election because the Greens reject it, what platform can they run on, after rejecting a Programme for Government with all their big demands in it?

You were badly exposed … Time to move on and people might forget your cowardice.

You’re in an awful way this morning. Whats the matter?

They will be in big trouble. They can be attacked from left and right. I assume all parties will add a few goodies to their environmental package and say if you want those policies and not megaphone politics then vote for them.
