Absofuckinlutely.
Like Pride, it’s gonna take a few years for corporates to climb on board… I envisage balaclava and beret day to be a regular fixture in the corporate social calendar in the next few years.
He’ll talk to everyone but Martin will have to agree to his requests for him to fall in line.
Mickey would agree that black was white to preserve his position. By the time SF come calling to FF meehawl will have his 37 plus about 6 FF genepool. It’s to strengthen his hand in who is Taoiseach (or Taoiseach first)
The dual carriageway from Drom to Granagh will be unrale when tis finished.
The lads from Rathkeale will love it for sulky racing.
Is he anti choice?
Fianna Fail lite
Ross eh, I knew it was him, even when it was years of government neglect combined with a global trend for urbanisation, I knew it was him
YEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAWW!!
If FF and FG do go into government they will have to solve either the health service or the homeless issue. Failure to solve one will see them destroyed.
Mickey Martin is going for the completely ruin FF option so
History will be kind to him if he succeeds
Fianna Fail made Ireland one of the best countries in the world to live in
There’s a real rhythm to rural TD speeches. I’d say it doesn’t matter what they’d say as long as the say it loud and get the rhythm and pitch right. It’s punctuated with the pauses for cheers and claps from supoorters but drives on again before they can finish clapping to build momentum for the next little bit. It’s fascinating.
The manifesto was authored by Professor Martin O’Donoghue, a former waiter, who studied economics as a mature student in Trinity and made a name for himself in academia. He became Jack Lynch’s economic advisor and Lynch urged him to stand as a TD which he did in 1977 and he became one of the few TDs to become a minister on his first day in the Dail.
He chose the wrong side in the 1979 leadership contest and fell out with Haughey and he drifted back into academia. His final act of public service was to serve on the board of the Central Bank from 1998 to 2008.
For context after a booming 1960s the oil crisis hit us very hard in 1973 and the 1973-77 FG/Lab coalition while earnestly trying to solve the problem were very unpopular and the country went into a deep recession. We actually had a semblance of a manufacturing base at this time, things like cars were made here, but virtually all of the manufacturing went to the wall in this period. Add the worst of the Troubles to the mix and the country was in a grim spot. O’Donoghue plan was to reflate the economy with borrowed money and spend our way out of this predicament. Rampant inflation at the time made borrowing a more attractive proposition than today. However the second oil crisis intervened in 1979 and the country was set back by 10-15 years. The 80s transpired to be even worse the the 70s.

So like any public speaker really.
