General Election 2020 Part 2

We cant have a govt without SF. They need to make this happen.

The documentary series from 15 years back was interesting.

There is surely a netflix series in his story

Do FG want to stay in though? Being a supporting party in Ireland is nearly always a poisoned chalice. They were the third biggest party and lost a shit load of seats. Go back into government as a supporting role will only reduce that further. Stay on the wings, be the opposition and chances are their time in power may be looked upon more favourably with hindsight in a few years. The people have clearly spoken and voted for CHANGE. Fine Gael going back in will cost them more votes in the next election.

And that’s great mate, the people voted for change apparently so I look forward to seeing the cohesive Shinner led government in place.

We are in the endgame now.

A nation once again
A nation once again
And Ireland long a province be a nation once again

It’s enough to get MLMD elected Taoiseach and form a government. It won’t be enough to pass a budget later in the year though.

Oh yeah that was good alright. RTÉ generally do good ones, well the production company they engage to do them do anyway.

There was a good Fine Gael one from a few years ago made by them as well, think only the first part went up.

Killian put up part one but doesn’t have part two unfortunately

exactly. Cunning.

It’s the same for FF really ---- If they go in with SF and it works out, if wont be FF getting the praise for it
Does he grow the beast he so long tried to kill?

Even Leo wants change.

A lot of seethe here today

Mick politics - no one wants to be in government .

You’ve no reason to be seething?

Relax, chill out, it’ll happen. Change is gonna come.

Yeah, they’re banking on SF’s economic policies to be unworkable when it comes to budget time. It’ll result in another election, but I still feel that the electorate won’t forgive FFG for it.

SF plus Greens would be enough if FF abstained.

The mood could well turn to a plague on all your houses Elvis

It very well could, but we’d still end up with a seat split not massively different to where we are now.

I think MM is arrogant enough and stubborn enough to do it and get his power. Recent history has shown that the supporting party usually gets the blame if it goes wrong. If it goes well, FF can spin it well enough to feather their own nest. Plus if it goes well, it’s a long time before the next election and despite SF doing so well this time, some of their candidates will be found out if there for a long duration. It well undoubtedly help the very good ones they have to be in the spotlight, but it will kill off the ones voted in under the “CHANGE” vote. It gives them time to have credible alternatives for another vote too though and should things go well, could kill off FG even further. Could see the rise in the lower parties next time around.
