Go black and male. Be prepared to walk loads. A good brush and comb set advised also especially to prevent matting on the ears.
The golden cocker has a tendency to be very temperamental. I had one that had to be put to sleep, biting strangers randomly. It’s a known trait in them.

Beautiful dogs but very temperamental as Maurice said. My Aunt always gets them, have varied from prick to very nervous. Very clever dogs.
