Getting a dog

If you don’t WFH I wouldn’t consider a pair just so they have company. Sometimes if one dog becomes anxious it will make the other anxious and then you have a massive problem.

Yeah it’s a tough one, but I’d always err on the side of the dog. I would consider a WFH role down the road to facilitate getting a dog, but it’s not the right time at the minute. Will put some work into fencing and whatnot in the meantime.

When I saw this thread bumped I was going to ask the same thing - if anyone has a Golden Irish Retriever or Golden Retriever? I didn’t realise they suffer with hip issues, is that just the Irish breed of them or the general breed also? I spoke to a woman a few years ago who used to assist in rearing/training guide dogs for the blind and she thinks Golden Retrievers are top of the tree for dogs.

I’m looking for a family dog but must be hardy enough to sleep outside in a garage or shed or whatever and preferably one that doesn’t shed hair (though not a deal breaker as I don’t want the dog inside but knowing my daughter she’ll probably have the dog sleeping in the same room as her after a week). She is plaguing me for a dog and fell in love lately with a Cavapoodle I think it was called but that dog certainly wouldn’t be an outside dog.
