Ah ya. Have not hurled in 8 or 9 years but i’d be fitter than most 25 year olds.
Will struggle for a while with game fitness but sure that’s part of it

Did the same myself this evening.
Haven’t played hurling since 2013. Football in 2014.
I’m going to be broke up after the 1st few games
Best of luck with it. Keep us updated.
Who will you play with kev?
Fair play. What level are you going back to?
Ballinhassig
Live in parish. Was waiting for a clear out in Ballinora. Has not happened so I had to move.
Plus I have work in a place now where I can take Thursday nights off.
Junior A. Although the lad I have been talking to (my age and old adversary ) thinks I could make 2nd intermediate team with a bit of training.
Not bothered really. Always wanted to finish with hurling. At a hurling club now that my auld lad and uncles played for. Bit of Symmetry there.
Best of luck with.
Is it an Intercounty transfer? Thought all Club transfers were to be in before end of January?
I went to my first hurling training session in nearly 20 years a few weeks ago. We had a game then a few days later. Played the full game in goal. We drew. Think I’m pencilled in as goalie for the season which is cool with me. Wouldn’t mind getting a few minutes at full forward in a few games down the road but we’ll see. My triathlon training is helping with my general fitness but hurling fitness is a whole different category of fitness that I don’t have. Running in football boots on grass is also a bit of novelty. Have to almost relearn getting my balance on a soft pitch.
Made shit of my arm over doing puck outs couple of weeks ago. Couldn’t straighten arm for a few days. Seems to be better now. And worth it if I can get puck outs consistently to the far 65.
I’d like to get a year or two of hurling in before I hang it up. I’m taking it softly enough and making sure my body can handle it. Was fun to get out there again.
Lower division hurling in Kildare is exactly my speed at the moment. Be nice if we’re in the mix at the end of the season.
No its actually international.
But having not played in 3 years and living in the parish I do not think any of those rules apply.
Do you work in an office?
Sounded impressive until the lower division of Kildare bit. Ffs
What level are you hurling at these days?
Senior
You always had great wrists.
With who?
Yellow Walls Independents
As gutless as their names suggests.
It’s a nice fit for a cunt like you.
Have ye even won a game in 20 years?
How does that name suggest gutless?
Christ
