I cant wait to hear how he gets sent off for lambasting the referee
I thought I retired @flattythehurdler nearly 15 years ago.
Ah you did. But after 15 years of counselling…
I’d have had Flatty down for 70 plus not 50,
I’d have had you down for 13
Lift weights rather than thinking hurling training will see you right. The weight training/strength work means you can function the next couple of days after each match

Is it still a thing to put a coat of linseed oil on a new hurley?
No need.
There’s no pulling now.
All tippy-tappy stuff.
No need for a band either.
Just a grip.
It was lucky Kilkenny had to be home before 8.
You almost have to admire it
The new rules working in the ladies game

Tweaked my lower back last week in the gym. Was in a bad way til Monday, had been gradually softening out since then but my groin and glute locked up as well and hammer tightened from the tweak. Got a rub off the club physio earlier in the week but didn’t do much to alleviate the groin or glute.
Applied an atomic amount of tiger balm and roll on deep heat to my back, glute and hammer and decided to tog this evening, said I’d do a decent warm up and see how long I could last.
Thankfully I held up well, hurled a solid enough outing and we won well to keep us in contention for the league.
Got into the car to head home and that is when the atomicness really kicked in - felt like I had the heated seat on in the car. Right leg pulsing with the heat.
I get home to find the power is out ![]()
Here at the kitchen sink with a facecloth trying to dampen down the flames.
That is the burning feeling of victory right there. Savour it.
Sit your arse into the freezer
