Croom in the cup this weekend. They beat us just last week 2-0 in the league. They are easily the best team in the division and it is going to be a tough game… especially seeing as-
We’ve lost our two strikers to injury in that game. Centre half to viral infection. Third striker/attacker to discipline problems and our star winger is away this weekend. I myself haven’t ran in 6/7 weeks due to injury and still have the effects of Christmas yet to blow away and I imagine i’ll be thrown straight back in we are so short in numbers.
It’s going to be a proper David and Goliath affair… if we win this it will be right up there with Wimbledon in '88.
Beaten on penos… Sickened. We battled all day and without 3/4 of our regular starters.
Lasted 85 mins. Did my ankle after 20 mins, did it again on 40 mins and taped the fuck out of it at half time and did the thing again a third time. Swollen ta fuck here now.
Not so bad, I was considering a return to association football myself last year but the commitment is a killer, couple a nights astro is handier that way.
Yeah… It’s Div 4 bud, fitness is mixed. I haven’t ran in 2 months myself and wont be returning till next week if all goes well with physio. When the light goes we only train one night a week so not too bad… if you’re interested we are training tomorrow at 7 in Shelbourne park.
After a 14 game unbeaten run last year we topped the league handy, but I’m thinking of calling it a day. Going to take a few weeks break once the football finishes up and I’ll see after that. I definitely won’t be playing them both at the same time (not literately, dickheads).
Fuck it - Football is number one for you any way so you might as well have yourself in the best condition possible to keep playing away for the next few years… that and time with the little lady…you must be gearing up for no.2 soon?
Went hurling training last night for the first time in 10 months or so. Good to get back into it. Nothing like a nice summers evening and hard ground. You would be only mad for more after it
Nothing like it mate. I went back this year and it was one of my best decisions in a while. Lovely mix of old and young and despite the lack of pace there really is no substitute for a bit of hurling wisdom.
