Iām almost sure those shows are sold out. The second night in Dolans has tickets left alright.
Pavement
Not a fan?
I think Iāve tickets for both Pavement nights, Iām not sure.
Absolutely a fan!
I didnāt realise the gig was on. Iāll be heading to it all going well.
Ticketmaster secondary market thing is a some chicanery. Fuckers are touting tickets.
Saw Aldous Harding the last time she was in town. Might have been the last live show Iāve been at. It was good but very short.
Didnāt realise Arab Strap were coming to town, I need to have a good root through the Dolans listings
Iām really looking forward to seeing Declan OāRourke in March though Iāve a fair few gigs lined up between now and then, his new album is powerful
How short? Up to around 75 minutes is perfect for me unless youāve a serious back catalogue. 90 minutes grand as long as there are four albums at least in the cannon.
Some friends were supporting that crowd Villagers in Cork a good few years back. Villagers had two albums to their name at the time. They were about an hour in when I left because it was particularly boring. The lads said they played another hour after that. Thatās ridiculous
In the words of Aimee Mann, āI shouldāve knownā.
Less than an hour. Too short for paying punters and I despise the cult of the three hour gig. Particularly the 3 hour Bruce Springsteen gig.
Ah yeah. A Vicar Street gig should be c. 75 minutes (+).
Brockhampton with the 12 year old in January @ The Olympia
Dermo Kennedy at 3 Arena with the 10 year old in December.
It does sum them up
Dermot Kennedy should be shot.
Seems an inoffensive chap. whatās your beef?
Crimes against music.
Dermot Kennedy, that Scottish fella with the big head. Both sound exactly the same. The new bedwetter type music is shouting shouty vocals over a twee piano or guitar.
But there is plenty of good music out there. I donāt need to listen to these two lads.
Gang of Youths - the Button Factory - 3 March 2022
Paddy loves the earnest singer songwriter. At the turn of the millennium, David Gray was the most popular act here. Let that sink in.
