Similar enough I think, Rum, Sodomy on the menu next Summer I believe. With nobody buying actual music, these tours are a source of income for Spider and Fearnley in particular, as I presume Finer’s doing well from Fairytale royalties? Jesus they were something else in their pomp, we were so lucky to be there for it

They were such a great bunch of musicians when you think of it. And then the fascinating character of MacGowan driving them.
Also Philip Chevron involved. A brilliant songwriter in his own right.
Spider Stacey’s Tuesday Mornimg is up there what the very best they did also.
A wonderful band that I was fortunate to witnsss three times.

Would have loved to have been at the Point on Tuesday for the 40th anniversary of one of the most seminal debut Irish albums of all time. Next years 40th of the Rum, Sodomy and the Lash is up a notch again.
Stand out classics that ll never get old. Starting with the Sick Bed of Cu Culchulainn, Body of an American and the rest. Does music get any better than this? Genius and then some, a proper band, lyrics, melody rhytmn and magic. As the Boss said, they ll be playing these tunes as stalwarts in a 100 years time, if this old planet keeps turning.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre in the Olympia tonight. Singer’s voice was fairly knackered with a cold, drinking honey on stage. Somehow took them at least two minutes between every song, multiple guitar changes and tunings. Slowly gathered steam as they went on though, good gig.
