Watery scare for Portugal marshal

Round two of the Portugal Masters at Vilamoura was briefly delayed when a marshal had to be rescued after falling into a lake at the seventh hole.

Graham Finch, who cannot swim, lost his balance and tumbled into the water at the Oceanico Victoria course.

Fortunately, fellow marshal Miguel Palhoa was quick to spot the danger and dived in to rescue his colleague.

Ironically, playing the hole at the time was Jean Van de Velde, famed for losing The Open in a greenside burn.

Finch, a former captain of the High Post club in Salisbury, returned to the same spot later in the day - after a change of clothing.

“I’d been watching drives and had taken a few backward steps when suddenly I did the splits and went down into the lake. It was like going down a children’s slide,” he explained later.

"It was not funny at the time. I was frightened - it’s no good saying I wasn’t. I was up to my neck and I can swim only a few yards, so I cried out.

"At first someone came with an umbrella to try to pull me back to dry land, but I couldn’t reach it and every time I tried to put a foot down I went further in.

“But another marshal was brilliant then. He came in and pushed me so I could reach the rocks and clamber out.”

Lucky man, fairly embarrassing though, wonder if it was caught on tv

Villegas’s Uncle Shot Dead

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12176_4354035,00.html

The uncle of golfer Camilo Villegas was shot dead on Saturday by thieves who attempted to rob his business.

Ernesto Villegas Zuluaga, 56, was murdered when two armed men entered his coffee trading business demanding money.

Villegas was reported to have taken on one of the men before being shot, according to senior Caldas state official Henry Murillo.

Relatives of Camilo Villegas claim the PGA professional is flying home for the burial of his uncle who was also his godfather.

The 26-year-old became the first Colombian to win a PGA Tour tournament when he clinched the BMW Championship in September

Mad isnt it.

33 points on Saturday. Not too bad I suppose as I’m not getting out that much these days. Scratched a couple too. I got a peach of a bird on a par 3, long putt after a good tee-shot… There should really be a board where we could talk golf all day, oh hold on, wait a minute…

It’s probably better that you get to talk to other people here though Locke!

Never a truer word Pikeman. Thought Ben would hang around a bit but he only looks in the odd time. Even took in a spammer but he left me. Ah well…

Ah jayz-I feel bad now.
I’ll go in there shortly and leave an interesting post.

Wipe your feet over there, it’s very tidy (not much traffic)

Hey Tiger, have you joined yet? Get on the case if you haven’t.

Hey Locke, I saw you were looking for suggestions to improve the site over there - would you consider buying a domain name for it and putting a home page up and having the message board as part of it? Can’t be too easy for people to remember the current URL. I doubt I’d know where to find it if it wasn’t in your signature.

Looked into it Mac but have to set up a company to get a domain name. If there is a way around this please tell me coz I have a guy who can look after the front page etc. Want to go more into this but without spending a shit load on it. Recession + twin boys = rap all cash for Locke :{

Are you sure Locke? Not trying to hijack the thread but through Blacknight there I was one step away from purchasing www.19th-hole.ie and it never mentioned anything about being a registered company? I presume once you have the domain name you just need it hosted somewhere? I doubt Rocko had to set up a company for this place here?

Shit, that reminds me. Rocko, did you review that first draft of TFK annual accounts that I sent you? We have to have them submitted to the Companies’ Registration Office by October 31. I’ll start working on our preliminary tax returns today too. By the way, I capitalised the footballs we purchased for the astro team and I’ve decided to depreciate them on a straight line basis over 2 astro seasons. Locke, you’ll also need a solicitor and you’ll need to set up a company current bank account.

Joined up locke. My fingers are fooked from typing up a course review of wexford! its brilliant, fair play!

Cheers Tiger, spread the word.

Sarcy cunt!

Was doing a bit of research there and if you go for a .ie domain name you have a list of requirements.

That’s why I helpfully suggested you would need a bank account and solicitor Locke.

Still think you were on the wind up but thanks if you weren’t.

Think I’ll go with the .net version, no-one really bothers with that anymore (if it’s .ie or .com)
