The Mans got a serious fetish , black holes and a bit of asian .

I’m only about a third way through but I’m pretty sure that Shuggie Bain is a masterpiece

I’ve just bought The Executioner’s Song", which is a weightier tome than I had imagined.
Have you read it?

I have that bought. I’m just finishing Cloud Street.

Finished this today. Probably as readable a book about the past and future of the universe and our place in it as there’ll be, but it was still one that you needed to stay switched on for all the time.

Starting into this next.

Got Michael Harding’s new book for Christmas. Finished it today. A bit heavy on covid references, when I could do with an escape from it, but it is beautifully written and has some lovely turns of phrase and imagery. It’s an ode to people who have died in a sense, so not exactly joyful, but still a lovely read. A solid 7/10

About to start this myself fagan. Strangio’s Hun Sen’s Cambodia is superb and easily the best of its kind.

It’s fair bleak too.

As I recall it takes a while to get going, then when you’re in you’re in.

For anyone who appreciates the internal workings of a rock ‘n roll band and all the carnage it entails…I couldn’t recommend Don Felder’s book highly enough.
Glenn Frey & Don Henley don’t exactly come out of it smelling of roses.

Is Snow worth ordering mate?

I’m about half way through it but I’d say yes give it a go. Easy enough read so far. But nicely atmospheric
