Watched prometheus a few times over xmas loved it. Tension jst like 1st alien. 1979 and timeless
It means you can’t use the internet :shakefist:
It means it’s not a proper image file. It’s probably obfuscated on some website (or twitter) to make it more difficult to copy elsewhere.
‘Slingblade’ …cracking film…Billy Bob shoulda got the Oscar…“awright deyann”
He’s just one of those actors I find annoying. With the exception of intermission, I’ve never found him very believable in the roles he’s played.
I watched El Norte over the christmas. About two young Guatemalan peasants sneaking into the US to work. The kind of movie that makes an impact on you.
Yeah,like change the channel.
Was that a documentary WTB, i seen it before
No, it’s a film. There was a high profile documentary about Mexican illiegal immigrants last year I think but I can’t remember the name of it. El Norte was on telly as one of those late night movies about 10 years ago, I only saw a bit of it at the time but I’d always wanted to see it in full. It’s the kind of thing I can imagine TG4 having shown since.
Saw a great documentary over the christmas called ‘Nostalgia for the Light’. Focuses on astronomers based in the Atacama Desert and on women who search for family members ‘disappeared’ by the Pinochet regime in the same place. It kind of examines the similarities between the two and it works really well. Would recommend it, very well put together. The director is a Chilean guy named Patricio Guzman who’s made two other documentaries about the military coup in Chile and the Pinochet regime. Definitely have to watch them sometime.
Get Carter just started on TCM. Starring the great Michael Caine.
Chasing El Norte was the name of the doc i was thinking of, tough trek from guatemala to the states espcially for the women
Go way you clown it is pure shit, one of the worst things i have ever seen.
Watched ‘Django Unchained’ last night and enjoyed it. It is an entertaining film, don’t think it tries to be too clever and does what it says on the tin.
I also watched Django Unchained last night and would agree with your assessment. It doesn’t have the usual Tarantino dialogue in it but it is entertaining and wonderfully violent. Tarantino did his usual cameo and he looks like he’s after putting on about 4 stone.
I watched Django this afternoon and despite my strong dislike for most of the rubbish he has churned out the last few years, I enjoyed it! Very entertaining and very funny film. It did drag a lot towards the end and was at least a half an hour too long (Tarantino cannot bring himself to edit out anything it seems). Samuel L was laugh out loud hilarious.
All in all it was a delightful romp. I’ll give it my worst rating ever, 7 thumbs up.
Tarantino has indeed become a right fat bastard, he is lucky he is so tall or he would be a blob. Grazing from the good paddock it seems. I thought his cameo was very bad, he should not have been in it. No way would anyone cast him if he wasn’t Tarantino, he has no screen presence and is a bad actor. Samuel L Jackson was superb and stole the show really. All in all a solid 7/10 from me.
Tarantino is a terrible, terrible actor and his accent in this is awful. It is pure self-indulgence putting himself into his movies but his call I suppose. It is more of a comedy than his usual movies and Jackson is hilarious. Nigh on 3 hours is pushing it though.
the following acronym is falling into disuse on TFK lately, so I’ll help to revive it now - FOAD
Shut up you fag.
is that a good one Dunph, would you recommend it? When is it in the cinemas?
It’s supposed to be darkly comic alright but not my kind of thing. Your old Da is in it and he plays the part of a raging homo. He has sex in the ass with men in public toilets.
you like to watch, don’t you Dunph?
