Watched Silver Linings Playbook last night. Some funny moments but overall a bit average. No harm in giving it a look though but not cinema-trip-worthy.
I liked Django Unchained.
Like Basterds, it could have been trimmed by a half an hour. The three central characters are excellent and Jackson is terrific as the two faced house nigga.
Nearly ruined by the director casting his own fat ass and attempting a ludicrous aussie accent.
Overall, a very entertaining couple of hours.
agree 100%. 7.5/10. at least a point dropped for his own shambolic part. entertaining show apart from that
I watched the last 20 mins of a French film called Days Of Glory last night, about North Africans who fought for France in WW2. It was fucking brilliant, have to find the whole film, have any of you seen it?
No,but I remember it coming out to excellent reviews. It features the green-grocer’s assistant from Amélie in it…
Watched Les Mis on Saturday night. Thought it was really good. My sister played the songs over and over when I was young so I know them all. To see a full movie adaptaption was really cool. Russell Crowe can’t sing. I’d do a better version of Stars myself but you can’t win them all. Amanda Seyfried was a bit mediocre too. But we’ll forgive her for the following reasons:

Watched Life of Pi last night. This 3D thing is such a fad. It looked pretty and all that but story wise it was all a bit weak and overly religious for me. It is saved by a bit of a twist at the end. Ok bordering on good. No more than that.
Agree and agree… Life of Pi was meh, but I knew that having read the book. I knew nothing of Les Mis and thought it was a cracking show.
I watched Hard Candy last night. Putting aside how far fetched it is, I thought it was a hoot. The way it is turned on it’s head to have you rooting for the monster is well done. The table scene is gas.
Saw it a few years ago. Wouldn’t say it’s brilliant, it’s alright. Saving Private Ryan with North Africans more or less.
‘The Hangover 3’ - which stars Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms opens on May 24.
Saw Lincoln last night. It was grand. It is worth seeing and Daniel Day Lewis was very good but overall I was expecting better
Saw Anglo The Musical.
Great film.
Yeah, I thought it was very good. Very little glory in it and the main story was the treatment of the North African regiments by the French during and especially after the war.
‘Argo’ is very, very good. Really enjoyed it.
Argo fuck yourself.
It was good alright The Dunph.
Papillion
Just watched Danny Boyles Sunshine there and really enjoyed it!
Went to see Zero Dark Thirty last night. A bit of a slow burner but enjoyed it thoroughly. Despite the ending being known she really builds the tension and it comes across as quite un-Hollywood.
With this and the Hurt Locker, Katherine Bigelow needs to find one more angle to have an Oliver Stone like trilogy of films about the “War on Terror”.
