Great to hear. I also agree it is the sign of a confident man, I’ve done the drinks on the first date thing and I just find it the setting is not proper, you need an ambient peaceful environment where you don’t have to raise your voice, where you know you will have a location with a little bit more privacy and due to this the conversation becomes more personal and deeper.
Saw The Secret Life of Walter Mitty last nght, better than I thought it would be, not exactly intellectually taxing, but enjoyable, good film to bring the family to.
I’m sure the Wolf of Wall Street is good, but r4eally, another film about a greedy fucker on Wall Street?
I like Amy Adams, it would be the only reason I’d watch American Hustle over Wolf man. Although she hasn’t excelled in a movie since Leap Year to be fair.
I thought The Fighter, also directed by this O Russell guy was muck. May give this a wide berth.
O Russell is an odd sort of cunt, he’s gotten universal acclaim but I cant say I buy into it, apart from 3 Kings I wouldnt have much time for his back catalogue, eg, Huckabees, Playbook, Flirting with Disaster and especially The Fighter, which I thought was just meh.

The Wolf of Wall Street is brilliant. Engrossing, well made and the performance of the cast is top notch.
American Hustle is more “style over substance” cuntishness from O Russell. Save for a decent showing from Bale, and to a lesser extent, a skeletal Adams, its not worth the hype IMHO.
Wolf of Wall Street is excellent, believe the hype. However the running time was a surprise, didnt realise it was 3 hrs, even though you’d be hard set to make a cut anywhere. McConnaughey’s cameo at the start set the bar and Leonardo carried it from there brilliantly.
