McConaughey is excellent in it - serious amount of weight loss by him and Jared Leto. Compelling story but suffers a bit as a film in that there was no natural end so it sort of petered out a bit. I’m giving it a 6+/10.
I watched this last night. It ended a bit abruptly, I felt. I thought it was a good film though - hence posting about it in this thread. 75/100 for me.
McConaughey played a very strange character in Killer Joe and played it very well I thought.
That was a very strange film in general.
That scene near the end with whats her name sucking on the chicken drumstick was as fucked up a scene as I’ve ever seen-very strange movie.
. Far too much filler - the scene where the drugs kicked in and Di Caprio attempts to get back to the car was bottom of the barrell and shocking from Scorsese. Of course you had the tards in the cinema laughing their heads off.

what are you on about ??..that is one of the funniest scenes I ever saw in a film…its not filler…it was to show how out of control di caprio was… it reminded me of Johnny depp in fear and loathing when he is trying to walk when off his face on mescaline …
there probably wasn’t enough French existentialism in it for you…

@Bisto you must be a total philistine if french existentialism doesnt insist upon itself
Wasn’t it? I was wondering how the fuck it’d end, knowing it was almost over. And it was perfect.
“Please Mr. Kennedy” should be a hit.
My friend that I watched it with didn’t spot the point of the ending at all, didn’t recognise it I suppose. Great finish, very clever and completely fitting. Oscar Isaac is brilliant as the lead too.
Watched this last night. Very good film. Mikkelson is excellent in it and despite the serious nature of the film there are some good light hearted/funny moments in it. Well worth a watch.
