Thanks Hon
Mrs Jones and I just back from Return of the Jedi, 3 weeks running weve seen the original 3 Star Wars trilogy. Of their time, but kinda cool. I never saw them back in the day, not sure why not really
I watched the three of them over one Christmas about a decade or so ago. Great auld yarns in fairness.
Worth a watch though I reckon
My 5 year loves these books (cc @Kyle )
We are going to sit down and watch the original 1977 Star Wars A New Hope movie on Saturday. Will be his first time seeing it. Not sure who is more excited
Great parenting
Any time a child reads a book is a good sign
Went to the Critic there this evening. Good 1930s period drama. Great performance by Ian McKellen in the title role. Good way to put in a wet Thursday afternoon
I watched Maudie there on Netflix. About Canadian folk artist Maud Lewis. A tremendous film. Tour de France performances from Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke. Set in Nova Scotia. Beautifully shot. Uplifting and sad and funny.
Hawke is an underrated actor he’s very good in anything he’s in.
That’s a good one.
Thinking about watching a historical film here over Christmas, but doing it kind of chronologically. Seems like Quo Vadis was the first historical film post 1945…?
Just watched Richard Jewell. Very enjoyable
Fat lad is a great actor. Brilliant in that and I, Tonya
He’s incredible in it. So unique
Steals the show in Blackbird series too
FAO Dads of the forum - The Wild Robot is excellent.
Watched Conclave yesterday. Very good indeed.
Just watched a grand filum called Monkey Man, Dev Patel’s directorial debut. He wrote it and stars. Clumsy and chaotic at times, but ultimately a brilliant action movie, grim and gory. I doubt it was too popular in India, there’s some none too subtle commentary on the Modi government. A cracking movie though, 4 stars.
Check out Anora
Same guy that wrote Red Rocket.
Tipped for lots of awards
