Greatly enjoyed Black Bag. Great script and great back and forth between the cast. Good to see Fassbender in a decent movie for a change.
I watched A Complete Unknown last night.
While I am aware of Bob Dylan and his main hits I was never really a fan so wouldn’t have known much of the back story. The film is well made with the music intertwined with Dylan’s emergence and the issues facing America at the time.
Thought the last 30 minutes dragged a little as they dragged out the Newport Folk festival conclusion. Maybe it was a big deal at the time as Bob switched genres to electric instruments from folk but it felt a bit forced. Thought Ed Norton gave a fine performance as the laid back Peter Seeger.
Oh it was yeah.
Went to see La Haine in the Lighthouse earlier this evening.
A real Tour de France
We’ve reached the end game here in High Noon on TG4. Timeless.
Watching The Substance
Utterly bizarre shit
Here watching Bone Tomahawk. Very good so far
Ah stop.
A load of shite ffs
A delightful romp of a Western.
Not one for old farts as we see above
Takes some fucking turn that movie. ‘What in the name of jaysis?’ moment
A western that turns into a horror.
He probably hadn’t reached the horror bit.
Speak no Evil on Sky Cinema. Good owl West Country horror. I’m never going to the West Country.
A Few Good Men on film 4. Unreal show.
The Dude abides
I’d recommend The day of the fight to anyone.
I greatly enjoyed it.
Watching The Year of Living Dangerously, a great filum with an extraordinary performance by Linda Hunt which won her an Oscar as Best Supporting Actress for portraying a Chinese-Australian man with dwarfism.
It’s amazing really that there are so few films, books or general knowledge about Indonesia and its (recent) brutal history. The fourth most populated country in the world and the most populated Muslim majority country. Right on Australia’s doorstep, yet other than getting drunk in Bali, the vast majority of Australians wouldn’t know the first thing about Indonesia. I doubt would know Bali is part of it.
Barry Lyndon restored for its 50th anniversary playing at the Lighthouse 18-24 July. I’ll be going. Part of it filmed in what became our back garden. Saw it on its first theatrical release in the Regina Cinema in Waterford. Half the town were extras in it.
