I am up to no 117 in this.(Aurelian) Unreal. Unbelievable. An interest in Rome/history probably helps

Finished it last year laz. It took me over a year. A lot happened in Rome over 1100 years.
Utterly addictive. Just coming into it’s long and painful decline now. I will never forgive Diocletian for splitting the Empire although in fairness it was probably a good idea at the time.
Does Bruce Grobbelar’s spaghetti legs get a mention?
Tom Holland’s book about Rome, Rubicon is a good read.
There are some gas podcasts out there… download the podbay app and browse the different genres.
Any of you into Tech/Business… then Tim Ferriss is well worth a listen. He did a recent interview with Arnie which was a great hour of entertainment.
Doug Stanhope
Add Bill Burr’s podcast to the list as well. Very amusing
Dan Carlin
Insightful piece here on the legal justification for the US war on terror or AUMF - The Authorization for Use of Military Force. Never knew there was such a thing as terrorist baseball cards.

The French Revolution series from the same guy is great - http://www.revolutionspodcast.com/2014/07/31-the-three-estates-.html
Detailed but never tedious.
He’s done England and America too, not as good as the French but that’s because as Revolutions go they simply don’t compare. Can’t wait till he starts on the Russian version but I believe he’s determained to incorporate Haiti and Mexico’s revolutions first
The French one is unbelievably fascinating. What a case of characters. Hard to imagine any tv series could ever do it justice. Poor Louis. He was in over his head.
It is the daddy of all revolutions. I was thinking of rebranding myself as Tallyrand off the back of this podcast. I know it’s revisionism but he makes a good case for Robespierre suffering a nervous breakdown. It’s not a great stretch when you survey the turn of events. Danton should have been the man but not to be alas
The TFK podcast was class.
@Lazarus have you discovered the British History Podcast yet? Fantastic stuff and very similar to Mike Duncan’s style - https://www.thebritishhistorypodcast.com
I’m only about 10 episodes in but I’m hooked. Currently covering Boudica’s rebellion against the horrible Roman cunts.
The pirate history podcast is decent so far.
Haven’t listened but cheers for the heads up. Listened to this one lately, http://www.martyrmade.com/fear-loathing-in-the-new-jerusalem/ , more in the Dan Carlin style(ie long episodes) but an excellent summation on the history of conflict between Palestine and Isreal starting off with the Progroms and Zionism currently up to the Six day War.
Also very much been enjoying Philosophize This by Stephen West
I watched a great documentary on that a few years back. To be fair, tan history is great until they started conquering half the globe… the intrigue among leading families seeking the crown between the 14th-16th centuries period is top notch stuff.
