Quinn was a great man for the headed pass or flick on. Cas was a much better man attacking the ball
True. The ones against Yugoslavia 1999 and Germany 2002 obvious examples. He got a lovely flicked back header against Denmark in 1993 as well. But in terms of traditional full force finishes from headers Cascarino was much better.
His goal against the North in '89 was the moment qualification for Italy was properly ensured. It was a statement goal.
Who sprayed that lovely pass out wide before the cross for the Cascarino goal? Beautiful technique
Ronnie Whelan. Shamefully overlooked in the conversation for best free state footballer of all time.
