[QUOTE=“ChocolateMice, post: 1126495, member: 168”]This is more a highlight reel than a video @Fagan ODowd - but Cork v Limerick 2001. That shoulder from the rock, the line ball by Barry Foley, the father and son celebrating in the crowd after the game with the father in tears… I love Ollie Moran’s point around 2.10 in.

that’s utterly brilliant
i was working in Raheen at the time but was at the game, my ould fella went bananas as well at the end
Foley’s point to me is one of the great scores
people critizise the park but the athmosphere there that day was crazy, it was boiling hot and the crowd was whipped into a frenzy, u couldnt get it anywhere else, there is no wind there at times, its humid and the noise can be deafening
Cregan’s speech at the end was superb, that was real limerick, bearing a grudge, bitter , seething, cork lads getting timbered around the field, utter venom and bile from the crowd, to quote a great man " they walked all over the cunts that day"
I wonder how he goes about ordering a sandwich from a deli…

cork hadnt won a championship game since 1992 ( ok there was the win in 1995 against Kerry in Tralee on FA cup final saturday but Linerick in the park 12 months later put it in perspective),… The league final win in 98 was a sign that JBM had Cork buzzing , 10 starting players from East Cork, a team backed by the u-21 winning teams and the start of his gayness becoming somebody…
after a shaky few years from 95-98 hurling needed the old order , JBM gave us what we needed .
This game marks the beginning of the Cork Waterford sage ( 1999-2007). 50k people at a Munster semi final… you’ll never see it again
this was the start of it all, everything followed, the 2002 strike, the low point of loosing v Galway the same day the footballers beat Tipp, the utter classic 2003 Munster final, the emotion of the win over Clare in the semi the same year when Setanta trampled on Frank Lohan, the draw against wexford, the return of Corcoran, waterford in 2006/2007, annihilations in 2008/9… this game was the lift off

this is a superb production by TG4
Cork hurling hit some low point from 1987-1989, that hammering by Tipp in 1988 at the opening of the Gaelic Grounds was horrible, Waterford beat us in 89… shane ahern, FFS

1994, Cork’s low ebb albeit before the 1996 nadir…
some sequences of play here, the endgame , Joe Quaid’s save from Seanie Maccarthy and Kevin Murray’s goal.
The goals from Ger Manley and Gary Kirby are of the highest quality
anyone have a clip of Timmy Kelleher pulling Benny Dunne style accross a Tipperary players head in a league semi final in Thurlus sometime around 1992-94, he got the line… great stuff tho
worst all ireland final in my memory of finals
1987 - 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012 ( not the replay).
2008- missed the game as i was working 100 hours weeks in Taiwan
2011- missed the game as i was working 100 weeks in Israel
2012 first match - see above
2013- listened to the whole championship on Cork’s 103FM, i have never seen any of the games, the disappointment i felt at the replayed Clare game was brutal compared to the elation of the semi final win where i went out and got smashed in Tel Aviv afterwards
2014- didnt see either game due to a domestic dispute
Ballybrown v Clarecastle 1991 as good of a scrap as you’ll see
Nicky English took some serious punishment back then.
Post up the clip of Jim Cashman looking for his fingers in the 91 Munster Final replay.
Nicky had a lovely laugh.
That’s a tremendous manly schemozzle. Eddie Keher would probably insist on the referee having a little word with the lads to calm down a bit after that - in a non triumphalist way of course.

You wouldn’t see the beat of it in a Bruce Lee movie.
The Portlaoise number 9 getting flaked at the end of it?
