Great losing All-ireland final performances

That match might have been peak ‘id recognize them if I saw them in the street’ gaa for me. Would like to see the line ups but id say all 30 and few subs were recognisable to the casual fan.

Kevin O’Brien says hello. But you don’t know who he is and you walk the rest of the way down the street. Then Brendan Kealy says hello.

Joe Rabitte vs Tipperary 2001.

Cregan nearly beat Galway on his own in 1980. I was id say in second class and still remember it.

Not an All Ireland final but Tommy Dunnes performance in 2000 munster final loss to Cork was one for the ages.

Dunne was absolutely brilliant to watch around that time. A beautiful hurler.

Kelly had a much better game.

Shane Walsh had a polar opposite game to last Sunday in 2022. Some of the points he kicked were unreal.

Joe Cooney had an outstanding first half in 1990, one of the all time great performances
But when the game was there to be won Jim Cash owned him

Was it Mark Foley centre forward that day? Keady like Joe Cooney had a great first half. Our problem was Sean Trassy played like a second centre back and not a full back. Mulcahy and Fitzgibbon caused carnage. I think they put Mulcahy centre forward for the 2nd half. Naughton’s miss was the turning point.

I think you’re mixing up 1986 and 1990

Nah. We let 4 goals in during the second half in 90.

A brilliant first half had Joe. Scored 1-6 or something like that. Not sure who marked him in the 2nd half but they completely shut him down and he only scored a point from a free in the last minute

He had a goal wrongly disallowed in that first half too.

No, you are thinking 1990. Tomas Mulcahy was 11 in 86.

Ah I misread. Thought you said Keady in 90.
