Greyhounds Matters šŸ - Supporting Rural Ireland

Accordello too good for College Causeway on Saturday night in HQ.

English Derby down to the fianl 6 and the Irish, who in my opinion, held back out best, not featuring, even though they were all whelped down on these shores.

SS**, do you have Wise though in your AP book, I hadnā€™t even a semi-finalist.

No Iā€™m disillusioned with the English Derby after Aston was knocked out in the heat of death. I didnā€™t have a semi finalist either, with Windy Miller KOā€™d aswell. They were my last too. I think only a heat like the one Aston drew would have kept him out of the final, the first three home from that heat are all in the final. Iā€™ve lost interest in it now.

Iā€™d probably side with Ruso hoping he keeps blazing out but looks wide open and if he doesnā€™t come away from Reason itā€™ll be tight in there. Zafonic probably different dog in red. Wise Thought solo out wide? Probably no bet for me. I hope Patsy gets beat really.

Greyhound derby will be on shortly. Iā€™ve backed Wise Thought to win tonight out of trap 6 at 5/2. Hopefully there will be trouble inside and he can scoop up along the outer. Itā€™s a very competitive field though in fairness.

Iā€™ve also put a small wager on Glenard Sunrise in trap 4 at 10/1 as a saver bet hopefully. I think heā€™s over-pried.

Kinda Ready wins at 25/1!!!

Kinda shockedā€¦ After the way Kinda Ready broke and caused havoc inside him I thought it was going to be Wise Thought all the way. Canā€™t belive Kinda Ready picked up Zafonicā€¦

Thatā€™s the most incredible part about it, how he picked up Fear Zafonic, who got practically a solo really. Amazing turn of events.

I actually found a ā‚¬15 docket for Farloe Reason @ 66/1 a few days before the race but it was a beaten docket when he didnā€™t lead. Must have done ā‚¬300 in ante post flights of fancy. Still though, I love that competition.

I actually know a guy who had a nice touch on Kinda Ready both ante-post and on the night. I laughed at him when he told me Kinda Ready would win it out. Whoā€™s laughing now. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yer man is Iā€™d assumeā€¦

Getting sick and tired of that cunt bringing greyhound racing into disrepute with his positive drug tests. How many is that now? And in the biggest event of all. FFS please god the GBGB will warn him off and itā€™ll be reciprocated over here. Itā€™s a fcuking joke at this stage.

Whatā€™s this now?

Shelbourne Aston tested positive for steroids in the Derby first round.

Thatā€™s an Irish Cup and English Greyhound Derby heā€™s copped now, maybe heā€™ll go for the hat trick in the Irish Derby next.

Iā€™m guessing this isnā€™t anything new from his trainer? Canā€™t they just ban the fook? I know of a trainer near me who was banned from ever training dogs again as he was up to that kinda messing.

He took em to the high court when the Irish Coursing Club tried to disqualify Vinny Jonesā€™ dog Boavista which he trained. Itā€™s still ongoing. The man missed his calling in life, he should be running Boots Chemists.

Last years Derby win left a sour taste in my mouth after what i heard in the run up to it.

This shit fooking sickens me.

He might think heā€™s being smart but how much has he just knocked off the value of Shelbourne Astonā€™s stud career. Alot if you ask me. His whole racing career since he joined his current trainer is now under a dark cloud.

Would this sort of thing be common enough in Irish Greyhound Racing or even across the water?

Rife but strangely they seem to be caught alot more when they go to England. Dogs fail the test over here but hasnā€™t been a high profile dog for a while now.
