Happy birthday Francesco Totti

The great man is 35 years old today, the greatest footballer footballer of all time and high on PETA’s wanted list for cruelty to eagles.

Lets have a quick reminder of what makes such a unique footballer.

So good he even has someone to pull up his shorts

The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be.

Francesco Totti - a Prince of Men.

Happy birthday to the great man.

That’s another thing that sets Francesco apart from the rest, when shit gets ugly on the pitch, Francesco, unlike the Barcelona babies, doesn’t go round waving imaginary cards at the ref, he takes matters into his own hands and serves out his own justice.

So spitting on someone is a great deed?
Maybe for a scumbag cunt it is.

Fuck off Runt.

Poulsen isn’t just someone, he’s an utter cunt and it beats being a little bitch.

Same amount of international goals as Kevin Doyle. Bit of an unfair comparison, Doyle never took a peno.

Nor was he a World Cup winner.

Or voted on the the 2006 World Cup All Star team.

Or voted man of the match in a European Championships final.

Stephane Guivarch is a world cup winner

Theo Zagorakis was man of the match in a European Championships final.

Alpay, Reyna and Diouf have made World Cup All Star teams - quite the accolade that one .

Not sure why Totti was such a failure on the international stage. An afternote in the 2006 triumph, disgraced in 2004, anonymous in 2002. Euro 2000 was his only form of note on the international stage. His 8 competitive goals came against the might of Belgium, Romania, Georgia, Finland and Australia (pen).

The ultimate big fish, small pond man.

i love when people compare Maradona to him & say they are as good as each other as they both single handlidly won the world cup for their nations- while that maybe true Totti career in Serie A is so much better so its not comparing like with like

Please don’t talk shit.

Totti was excellent in WC 2002, playing the football of his career, in probably the best Italian side I can remember, until a drug-smuggling, match-fixing SOB, Byron Moreno disgracefully sent the Italians home with after a myriad of shocking decisions. I really believe Italy would have won the World Cup that summer only for Moreno.

He had a wonderful World Cup in 2006, especially when you consider many had ruled him out after he broke his foot in February. His performance against Germany in the semifinal was sublime. Totti never flopped at a major tournament, he just had some bad luck in 2002 & 2004.

it wasnt bad luck in 2002 - it was anti Italian xenophobia

how does that explain the fact that spain were also rode bareback against Korea as well

That was some Italian team though. Totti, Vieri, Maldini, Panucci, Montella, Del Piero, Cannavaro, Nesta, Zambrotta, Inzaghi all at the peak of their powers.

Totti and Vieri in particular were so impressive in the opening games.

A few notable Italians of recent vintage:

Roberto Baggio 27 goals in 56 games

Francesco Totti 9 goals in 58 games

Antonio Di Natale 10 goals in 36 games

Alessandro Del Piero 27 goals in 91 games

Why is Totti’s record so poor at international level?

He played in midfield and was a playmaker.

Totti was far more important than Del Piero ever was for Italy, hence why a succession of managers always had Totti in the starting team and he got the no.10 jersey off Del Piero.

now now, dont be throwing your toys out of the pram. Totti was a failure on the international stage as his stats indicate. Fantastic club record but couldnt do it on the international stage as his measly tally indicates.
