Hardy Half Backs of yesteryear

Clem Smith of Limerick was fine and hardy.

Finnerty was before my time, I do t remember too much about Doyle and, well, Liam Dunne is Liam Dunne so I will ABSTAIN from this vote

He did

Wasn’t much of a hurler though

There’s nothing about hurling in the thread title

Read the first paragraph Clem was a good few levels below the three mentioned.

He was an axe man closer to Eoin Brislane than the lads mentioned.

Liam Dunnes brother Tomas was also very “hardy”.

They were both sent off and O’Meara missed the final. Absolutely harmless stuff. Pat O Connor might have been the referee and he may have been acting on the word of linesman Pat Horan.

It was very soft

Mitch Jordan got sent off later in the game and from memory that was on the softish side as well

Whenever someone mentions Clem I’m immediately drawn to YouTube to watch the bag of piss acting the Hardman & just being brain dead conceding the free for final goal.

Also, tis grand watch that LK wan roaring at Timmy to “ puck it out Ta fuck “.

Clem

Clem Smith was more dirty than hard tho he could take it and give it.

I’ve given the nod to Finnerty.

Didn’t they call him the surgeon Dunne.

Think Pat Ahern from Carlow was the linesman that ran in and recommended the pair of red cards.

Correct :+1::+1:

Was finnerty retired from rte after the incident with the referee in Galway club game or was it of his own choice?
