Canā find it puke, Paudi Sull is the only one iād suggest though.
i take your word on it but i would say that i meant they would not have 5 minors this year. The way the draw has worked out they could well have 5 if they get to the final. if they get knocked out in quaters they will have 2 (not including burke who was minor last year). Kennifick (centre back) from midleton is on the core 15 they have selected, morrissey (corner forward) midleton has a chance as do the two cloyne lads (cahill and dineen) but they are underage again next year.
Turenne would have seen more of these lads than me to be honest.
Cahill is fully expected to be involved alright.
have the programme down in cork. the kep players on that team were paudie (centre back), Robert white (centre forward) and luke o farrell (full forward). luke was an u16 at the time. he has being crippled with injuries in last year or two but remains a serious prospect.
i heard he is a great bit of stuff. i think he may be u16 this year though but not 100% true.
Heās from good stock anyway. Cloyne getting a few just at the right time.
hes no relation to philip and maurice. i thought the same as you untill i was put right.
Really, i wonāt doubt your source, i was told about him as Phillips son. Obviously someone putting 2+2 together and getting 22.
your thinking of the lad that plays rugby, he is philās young fella. played senior with cloyne last year
Ah fuck ya, thats it.
Paude Sul and Luke OāFarrell are both on the current panel, thats it.
Dylan Cahill was on the Cork U-16 panel last year, assume he is U-17 this year.
From AFR:
Well Flannanās got a big fright today from a very determined and skillful Colmans. Flannanās got off to a flyer and were 1-04 to 0-02 up after 15 minutes with Colmans hitting some poor wides. However for the next 15 mins it was all Colmans although it was only in first half injury time that the racked up 1-01 to leave the HT score Flannanās 1-06 St Colmans 1-04.
After five mins of second the half Colmans were 2 pts up after getting a soft goal and their half backs Darragh O Carroll (Fermoy) and Tom Condon ( Glanworth) were hurling like trojans. Their midfielders Eoin Maye ( Castlelyons) and Nathan Byrne were well on top and in Michael Spillane (Capt) they have a superb free taker who punished everything in the second half . I have to agree with 23gh that it was a major blunder to take off the big full forward Gerard Hogan (Watergrasshill) who was posing big problems for Flannanās full back Noel Purcell ( SMB) .
Well if the Colmanās mentors erred the Flannans backroom team of Alan Dunne and John Minogue made the switch of the match moving Tony Kelly (Ballyea) to centre forward with Martin O Leary ( Kilmihil) going to midfield. This ignited the Flannans boys and with the sides level with 8 minutes remaining Shane O Donnell ( Eire Og) who had moved from corner forward to wing score a goal worth of winning any game when beating four ( yes) defenders and hit an unstoppable shot from 15 yards hight into the top corner of the town goal. Flannanās then tacked on a point and it looked curtains for Colmans but Michael Spillane converted two frees ( one a 65) to leave two points in it with less than two minutes plus stoppage time left.
Then disaster hit Colmanās goalkeeper Darragh O Callaghan who it must be said played very well with one particular brilliant save from Jarlath Colleran in the first half which if converted would have put Flannanās seven points. A high ball in from Conor O Gorman ( Clarecastle) who had scored three excellent points looked to be going over but dropped short and with the sun in his eyes the keeper mis judged the flight and it went all the way to the net. This knocked the stuffing out of Colmans and Shane O Donnell got his second goal in injury time with Tony Kelly converting a 60m free off his left for the final score of the game.
One of the scores of the game came with 3 minutes remaining when Peter Duggan ( Clooney Quin) scored a massive point from the touchline from fully 90 yards. He threatened every time he got the ball and except for one missed free he is a very capable free taker from long distance. It must be said that the referee (young guy who no one seemed to know) was atrocious ( for both sides) and what he left go had to bee seen to be believed. At times we wondered had he a whistle at all and when the final whistle went and a little set too between some players began he looked in their direction and headed for the dressing room. Only for the honesty of both sets of players this game could had turned into a very nasty game.
For Flannanās goalkeeper Eoin Enright ( Kilmaley) was very steady with good puck outs and couldnāt be faulted for the goals that beat him. Stephen O Halloran ( Capt Clarecastle) and Gearoid O Connell ( Ballyea) were the pick of the backline. Tony Kelly when moved to centre forward was class and his two points from play in the second half with Flannanās under the cosh were exceptional. Martin O Leary tried his heart out and if the likes of Conor O Gorman ( Clarecastle 1-03), Peter Duggan, Jack Browne ( Ballyea got superb first goal for Flannans) and Shane O Donnell get plenty of ball they have the ability to keep the scoreboard turning over.
Colmans came into the game as underdogs but boy did they put it up to Flannanās. In centre forward Colm Spillane ( Castlelyons), Kieran Morrisson (Fermoy) and MichaelSpillane they have exceptional forwards and can be well proud of their efforts. As can centre back Darragh O Carroll ( Fermoy), Tom Condon, Colm Barry ( Castlelyons) and both midfielders Eoin Maye and Nathan Byrne.
This could be the wake up call Flannanās need and on a drier sod ( Charleville was very soft and players found it extremely hard to rise the ball) they will certainly be a team to be reckoned with. Both sets of supporters were in great voice throughout and added to the occasion. However a special mention to the young Colmanās supporter who walked up and down the stand before throw in playing the National Anthem on the bagpipes. Now that was something I hadnāt seen before, well done younf man you put a smile on everyoneās face.
i think your right. great to see colmans perform so well against a much vaunted side. we will have a very good minor team this year.
