Has Darts eclipsed Snooker?

Iā€™d throw the first one in the general direction of the triple 20. Usually ending up with a 1 or a 5, or if very lucky a 20, then repeat, and repeat, until I ended with probably 60+ of a checkout left.

Another 3 darts would go similar.

Then Iā€™d be in doubles territory which would usually last for as many darts as it took the other fella to hit their double or with both of us ending ignominously on double 1

Darts in the 80s drew much bigger viewership numbers. His ā€˜recordā€™ isnā€™t a record

Should snooker make the pockets bigger to make it more attractive? cc @Cheasty

Play it with grenades. More fun

T18 D18 for me in 2.

S18 T18 D9 in 3.

Bull, double top

What would it have drawn at its peak?

Wiki says the 1999 final on BBC drew in over 4m

Record for PDC World darts final. BDO does not exist anymore.

Eddie will have the add the IPTV viewing figures to his

Here we go - 7 or 8 million at its height. Eddie has a long way to go still. I guess getting to 40% of the previous peak wouldnā€™t be too bad an outcome for this year

He says record viewership for darts, which is incorrect

I canā€™t see how you can be bored of the darts this World Championship with Littler coming to the fore. I actually thought Darts was in trouble with Taylor retiring and the decline of Barney and Anderson but the opposite seems to be the case.

Scoring is higher than it ever was. The problem is the time the game needs. People have low attention spans now hence the increased appeal of darts.

Didnā€™t Hearn try to take over snooker but was met with massive resistance from the traditionalists? Or am I mixing that up with another sport?

Could a darts type crowd work in Snooker? I know they tried it in shootout.

Surely way higher in the Eric bristow terrestrial tv era

Iā€™d say the current sky darts ratings are higher than current terrestrial tv for wc snooker are they? Which more or less definitively answers the original question on the thread

If I could have been anything in life, itā€™s a professional snooker player. I could happily spend my day watching snooker.
