Barry is running the tour and running more events I think. The son Eddie has no interest whatsoever in snooker, been quoted a few times. For the reasons @balbec mentions.
Surely snooker gets more than 2 million viewers on BBC?
Darts has really grown around the Christmas/new year period. Itās almost a part of the festive season now. Amazing what marketing can do.
Why isnāt the final New Yearās Day? It used to be didnāt it?
You get a better class of gurrier playing snooker.
20 , 1, 5
19, 20, 1
5, 5, x
20, 7, x
2, 2, 1

Double 1
Do people watch Darts at any other time of the year though? I suppose you could say the same about snooker or horse racing
Iād say the Thursday nights are popular enough.
Snooker is an awful spectacle unless youāre really into it/ play itā¦ Since the PDC made trebles/ doubles bigger it has certainly made it a better spectacle for the uninitiatedā¦ All the cunts in the background singing Yaya Toure would put you right off tho.
Its the pace of the games that makes darts so endearing. Its an adrenaline rush with many dramatic moments. You dont need to understand the game to be captivated by it.
Thatās pretty much itā¦ I was a casual snooker watcher but the likes of Ebdon, Selby killed it for me. I know Davis and the likes of Cliff Thorburn could be slow as fuck back in the day but there seemed an element of entertainment around themā¦the game seemed to go really boring in the late 00s early 10s
Bullseye with Jim Bowen was a great show Iād expect to see come back. Albeit with a new host.
I was familiar with Bullseye already, but Saturday January 14th 1989 at about 42 minutes into this video was the first time I ever chanced upon a darts match and right from the start I was hooked. I didnāt understand it at the start but that didnāt matter.
You must have a favoured treble.
18 for me, followed by 17. I have a right-leaning throw.
Double 10 or double 6 my preferred finish, if I ever get there.
I went to the Darts in the 3 Arena a few years back. Never again.
Would love to go to the Crucible.
By God you need to get the crucible @peddlerscross
Itās the cathedral of all cathedralās cc the bould Roy Curtis
Some day Iāll get there.
The Darts was full of drunken idiots. Fights breaking out everywhere.
Youād get a serious class of person at the Crucible.
Ah Sheffield is a Mecca for those two weeks of it, would highly recommend everyone taking a visit at some stage
No comparison to the on the bag and shouting about it brigade you get at the Darts
Iād love to see Selby in the trenches against Trump or Ronnie on a Tuesday afternoon Quarter Final session.
The PDC didnāt make the Trebles/Doubles bigger. Where do people get that shit from?
Board makers have improves the design of the wires now that they are thinner and donāt have the knots in them. The beds havenāt been made bigger though other than the wires being improved.
As with everything with Sky there was no sports before 1991/2
