I have no idea why you would think I would seek to pretend I knew about this game/incident and that I didn’t really and decided to rely on an Off The Ball conversation.
It was a fucking England-Ireland game for fuck sake, you clown.[/quote]
I’ve no idea why you would do that either Bandage. You are normally an original and articulate commentator. It strikes me as odd that you would lapse into copycat mode. Maybe you got lazy this once
I’m absolutely disgusted about this tangent but I make no apology for sidetracking such a fine thread. My integrity was questioned in the wrong and I’ll continue to defend my name. I call on those who know me to confirm that I don’t listen to Off The Ball and I’ll even note down what I was doing during the programme broadcast time, if necessary.
The sickening thing is I have no alibi - I would be solely relying on character references.
6.15pm - Arrived home from work.
6.15pm to 6.30pm - Stretches for ongoing groin and hamstring problem.
6.30pm to 7pm - Watched Home and Away (ate a banana).
7pm to 7.10pm - Watched the start of Sky Sports News at 7 to see the report on the Irish press conference.
7.10pm to 7.30pm - Beard maintenance (listened to CHVRCHES EP).
7.30pm to 7.45pm - More stretching.
7.45pm to 8.30pm - Cycling (13kms - listened to the most of The National’s new album)
8.30pm to 8.45pm - Shower.
8.45pm to 9pm - Phone call (personal).
I have been back in the living room since 9pm when I commenced an evening’s posting. I didn’t listen to Off The Ball.

That’s some great work and all over maintenance there, pal. Well done.

Could the accused not have listened to Off the Ball during the cycle? I believe it was during this time period that the little known Ray Houghton reference was made on the popular programme. This detailed schedule has only served to muddy the waters.
Well, that’s the issue about no alibi. I don’t have an interest in Off The Ball and I certainly prefer listening to music when cycling rather than cunts talking. But I can’t prove it and I’m so frustrated.
I can confirm that I have listened to Off The Ball with Bandage on numerous occasions since McDevitt left. I have no idea why he’d lie about this. We have often laughed at John Giles on a Thursday together.
A technicality, which I overlooked. TFK AFC’s team bus on Thursday night match nights sometimes has Newstalk on in the 5-minute journey from the squad’s base to Sandymount Park. A snippet of OTB may be picked up if it’s the later 8pm kick-off and those of us who don’t ordinarily listen to it are very briefly exposed to it. Not every week though - last week there was a really boring New York Jets podcast being played. I repeat, I do not listen to OTB and did not listen to it tonight.
I was in the audience a few times over a couple of years as a student. The first couple of times the place was awash with drink and there was no control at all so we got smashed and wandered about the various studios, there were cans to spare at the end to be removed and all but the last time we got tickets for it twas a waste of time and the drink was very controlled meaning you had to actually listen to the pompous fcukers that were being interviewd so we knocked it on the head.
