Apologies mate, I’ve had a busy afternoon and I just fell asleep beside my eldest while telling her bedtime story.
To answer your queries:
We did Sicily on the last leg of our honeymoon and it was the best part (sorrento and Malta the other parts). We stayed in an agriturismo guesthouse near Noto which was very low key and fairly remote but we were happy to do this after a hectic first week.
My recommendation would be to fly to Palermo, stay in a nice seaside resort along the north coast for a few days, hire a car and make your way down towards the south and find 1 or 2 nice guesthouses along the way to the ferry in Pozzallo.
FYI, Sardinia is also a very good option for that neck of the woods
I was expecting a bit of a write up. Can you throw up a review for members considering Japan as a holiday destination? If it is expensive, what you’d recommend or skip, the price of a pint, that sort of thing.
Sure didn’t I already Bandage what to do/where to go? Kyoto/Osaka/Tokyo over 9-10 days. I’ve been told pretty much every part of Japan is beautiful however. It’s going to cost a mint coming from Ireland, particularly if you are in anyway picky about accommodation.
If you want to go drinking stay well away though. Japan (and Singapore) are more expensive than Ireland for a drink. Great for recovering alcoholics though.
