Holidays in Ireland thread (Laois is for prisoners)

Very little in Bantry itself, an escape room is about the height of their tourism activity

But you’d knock a few days out of the surrounding area, Beara, Schull, Glengarriff, Garnish Island, Ballydehob for fancy grub and a daycent pint with music in Levis’s

Heading down to Dunmore East for a well earned break next Saturday. It’ll be Dexters first time down there.

You know the shortcut by the back road?

He’s some mug if he doesn’t and he driving up and down to Cork all this time

Amateur hour

Problem with that is that everybody knows about it, it’ll cost you time sometimes, especially when the town is very busy a you’ll be backed up behind O’Sheas trying to get back onto the Cork road

Also if the town isn’t busy it isn’t actually any faster, probably slower

I had to drive from Limerick to Newcastle west around lunch time. I passed some amount of cars pulling caravans and campervans with folk with Leinster number plates heading to Kerry/Cork. Was great to see the contentment in some of their faces regardless of the bad weather at the time.

A cavalcade of turkeys with ruddy happy faces. The pluckers are waiting in the long grass, merry eyed and salivating with expectation. The 5 in a row will be forgotten about… Yerra…

It’s a long cut. I’ve timed it. You’re almost always better going down the main street

Great drive and a stop at the chocolate factory👌
