Holidays in Ireland thread (Laois is for prisoners)

@flattythehurdler your spot looks lovely and I think that’s an incredibly generous offer to the TFK community

The Atlantic coast

I’d say they’ve all forgotten and moved on now mate - you’re probably safe enough to venture back again. Bygones.

Apology gratefully received and accepted.

Ferrycarrig Hotel. I wanted to support the Griffin Group in the wake of the pandemic.

I assumed it was either looking at the Ferrycarrig from Wexford or vice versa. A beautiful setting.

Very slim pickings at the moment if you are looking for a house to rent for a week. Very expensive to stay in some hotels too especially if you want a family room for small children.

Stayed here before for a wedding in East Cork and I recommend it if anyone is stuck. They are primarily a wedding destination but a lot of availability has freed up now and very reasonable rates too. Very close to Castlemartyr and Ballycotton.

I am off there in later in the year for the first time. Have a voucher but otherwise I’m not sure we’d go. Has it got very expensive in last while.

Book the tannery - lovely spot. Great pub grub in the moorings. If you have kids there’s a great pet farm and mini zoo on way to Ardmore.

Just back from essentially the north coast over three days, gweedore to Belfast with a stop over in Derry. Donegal is a savage spot, the coast and glens in Antrim a hidden gem of sorts. Some heartwarming local artwork along the way also.

I’ve done a wedding there. Good spot.

Up around Giant’s Causeway is a lovely spot. Portrush etc. You definitely get the feeling you’re far far away from the free state. Bushmills for example. Nothing that intimidated me, just reminders of where you were…

it’s not a free state.
It’s run by an unelected medical dictatorship and a Beef Baron.
