Lovely hotel, great town, very good town for eating

Little Fox is gone since you were last here I’d say

Just spotted my sixth celebrity of the week here in Kerry down a narrow country lane and incredibly he engaged me in an exchange - It was Fergus O’Dowd of FG. I was driving down a narrow lane and there was a bike thrown on the road, I’d to get out to move the bike to the side of the road to continue and Fergus arrived out of the house next door to convince me that the bike wasn’t his and that “some lad had abandoned it there”. Great stuff.

Have you stayed in The Falls?

Ya, few years back and the place was in bad need of repair… There was a bad leak inside the hall way and I brought it to the attention of the staff, on of them said it was like that for a while.
That was a few years ago so I hope the place got a face lift

Yes. It’s your standard small town/wedding venue. Serves a purpose but don’t expect to be wowed. The outdoor tub and sauna is nice. I didn’t eat there at the time went to Byrnes which I enjoyed.

Spend more time there it’ll come don’t worry

Yep

fuck it so ----

Looking for some where nice in September - better than decent but not 5 star… somewhere within 2 hours of Cork and has a little something to do around the place. Mrs O’Sullivan is 75 so a gang of us heading off.

Don’t overthink it kid. Go to Killarney. The Great Southern is a beautiful hotel with great food. You can jump on train in Cork and off it in Killarney and walk in the door of the hotel

Otherwise the Heritage in Killenaard is a lovely resort type hotel. Probably not bad value. Handy spin up the motorway

I love the cliff house but I won’t pretend to be an authority on high end hotels, I don’t think anybody could complain about it though, great food, nice bar, buzzy enough in a beautiful location, service is superb but not a bit overbearing, and those rainforest showers are great,

We’re enjoying Waterford anyway, spent a lovely evening in Stradbally cove, I’d never been before, lovely spot for a swim

Perfectly fine mate. Spent a night there recently. Service in restaurant was iffy but overall nothing bad too bad to say.
