I don’t really either, just think it’s a beach resort type place close by. Split could be another option too to mesh in with Zadar.
Were you in Wroclaw or Krakow? Uber is very handy. All the drivers seem to be Ukrainians.
Wroclaw. 7 or 8 quid for a 35 min taxi ride. I don’t know how they are making money, fuel seems to be more or less the same price as over here.
Zadar is very relaxed and casual. Could pass 3 days easily in the town along with a trip. Good value food and especually the srink The nearest beaches are half an hour away.
Internal transport is not great between cities. The boats are better. We drove zadar to split in 90 minutes. The bus would take 4 hours. Split is a fine city to visit with great connections out to the islands, good nightlife and built in to an old Roman palace.
Ballyferriter- portrmagee- or Valentina island nice, pick up a decent 4 bed bungalow for under e550 first week in July(I’ve provisionally booked same gaff as last year) Valentina does a water based sports camp plus a bit of cliff climbing, yachting for e98 a week for the under 16s highly recommended,my smallie does a week in July and August there
@RaymondCrotty Would it be worth going to Cambodia for 7/8 days? I can potentially fit it in to a trip to Vietnam I’m going on. What would be the main places to go to in that timeframe? Would I be missing out on much by not visiting the coast, bearing in mind I’ll be doing that in Vietnam?
How long have you got in Vietnam? Unless it’s over a month I wouldn’t bother with Cambodia, nice and all as it is
3 weeks in Vietnam
I’ll leave it to @RaymondCrotty, we had over 2 weeks in Vietnam and it wasn’t nearly enough, huge country and the two main cities are amazing, I wasn’t as gone on Cambodia, Laos was much better
Anyway, I’m wasting your time, it was 12 years ago
Thanks, I’ll bear it in mind anyway. I’d rather see a place properly than rush it, but I don’t want to pass up a handy chance to get to Cambodia either
Yes — Cambodia is well worth a trip. 5 nights might even do it
I did 3 weeks in Vietnam and loved every second of it. Could have comfortably done another week there.
I’d actually go back and live in Hanoi if I could.
I actually preferred Ho Chi Minh
Spent a few of the best days there, can’t remember a thing about it though
A beach resort called Mui Ne was the ultimate in relaxation for a pittance
Hi Chi Minh was also unreal. Two of the nicest big cities I’ve ever been to.
Hoi An, Hue, Sapa and Ha Long were all unbelievable too, and for such different reasons. I couldn’t recommend the place enough
Mui Ne can be very quiet but perfect for a couple …
Yes it would. Cambodia is a fascinating country. Decades behind Vietnam and Thailand in terms of development but lots to do, the best people and a lovely vibe. Siem Reap is particularly worth a visit and is much nicer than Phnon Penh. If in Siem Reap let me know.
Signing in.
Thanks a million, going to squeeze it in, seems too good not to
Excellent. A wise move. When will you be here?
