Fuck sake.
It wasnât Enda, it was Dublin City Council in an affidavit in the proceedings brought today. Hostels were identified and are ready to go apparently
Heâll start out by him saying he got locked out of his house one day before it snowballs
Because it takes the funds away from the cause the charity is suppose to be supporting.
Look at the carry on of a lot if the charities in this country where the folks in the upper echelons are feathering their own nests first before helping the cause.
no reason to think the father mcverry staff are on the take
if they dont pay the decent wages they wont get good staff

Homeless crisis sorted then. Just like that.

Oooooft.
Are they supposed to be medieval monks working for bread and water?
Interesting that they can testify that thereâs an equal or greater number of beds available than there are people on the streets. Iâd love to know how they measured that. Even if true thereâs a lot of reasons why the beds available arenât suitable to accommodate people. I think itâs misleading and untruthful of them to state that.
Donât trust those homeless charities when you see what they are spending their donations on. Seen an article during the week were the head person in the Fr Peter McVerry trust was being paid over 90k a year.
Are you taking the piss? The Peter McVerry trust is as hard working, effective and noble a charity as you will ever find. Youâd want to take a look at yourself if they are not good enough for you.
Nope if they can afford to pay 90k a year to people in the the charity then they are not as stuck for money as they claim.
In fairness to these folk, I think their strategy is pretty good. Celebrities involved to keep the initial land grab in the spotlight so itâs harder to fuck them out. A load of proper tradesmen ready to carry out work and all the shit ready to go in to it. Follow up celebrity involvement to keep it in the news and at the same time as the court case telling them to fuck off.
And yes I believe if you are in the charity sector then you shouldnât be paid. You should be doing it voluntarily and not taking the funds away from the cause that the charity is supporting. Who wants to give money to a charity when most of that money goes on wages and not to the cause.
Thatâs almost very good and noble what they did and not one of them is getting a penny for their time . Unlike some of the folks at the head of the homeless charities.
And just what the fuck are you supposed to live on while youâre running this charity?Youâd be fuckin homeless yourself pretty soon working for nothing.
If beds are free in the hostels because theyâre to dangerous, as it is alleged, what makes this a safe place for them to stay. Glen Hansard on the door?
So what you are saying then is that the folks involved in the charities are in it to make money and secondly to help the cause? Thatâs not very charitable.
To be fair to the crew running this it is to draw attention to the matter . The any port in a storm mantra will apply . The whole homeless thing is very sad and very complex. There are many strands to the problem.
The government really need to incentivise economic activity outside the pale . Dublin is too big relative to the size of the state .
