Hotels In Ireland

Royal Marine in Dun Laoghaire is nice without being extortionately expensive.

The Portmarnock Links Hotel has nice public areas and is adjacent to the Velvet Strand. Don’t ask me about the rooms or whether it has a gym. It is a golf hotel so if you have an aversion to knob jockeys in pullovers it won’t be for you. You could also be unlucky in the summer and arrive into Porto on a fine day and discover that every teenager on the Northside of Dublin has descended onto the beach and surrounding areas to run amok.

The Grand In Malahide might be a safer bet.

Fuckit, go down to Kelly’s while you have the old pair with you, Wexford is a great spot and you’ve the best of grub in Kelly’s

:grinning:

He’s from Tipp, it could be both.

Ah fuck it I’m giving that a like!

Yeah I think it’s got it all and I haven’t been there since I was in nappies myself

@KinvarasPassion can recommend some hotels out around Liffey Valley

How about Seafield outside Gorey near the coast, mate? It’s decent enough.

If Roslare is a bit too far, maybe try Amber Springs in Gorey. Very kids friendly, they have a kids club and indoor play area with a little mini farm out the back. Decent food in there too. You are also very close to Kia Ora mini farm too which is worth a visit if you have kids in the group of that age who would appreciate that. Not far off the motorway and about an hour from going to Roslare.

Happy to give that the magic 10

+1. A grand auld spot.

@caulifloweredneanderthal, Druids Glen should suit your needs. It’s about 5 mins drive to the beach at Kilcoole. Grand walks around as well if you need to stretch the legs. Great facilities for kids and brilliant staff too.

Lovely recommendations
Thanks all

Just back from a few days in Europe.
A phenomenal hotel. Everything about it was brilliant. Easily the best I’ve stayed in.

Thinking of popping up to the bar for grub shortly, have heard its great… Tho might stay where we are as I’m half steamed and don’t fancy driving.

The Aghadoe is not bad either … I’m here looking out at the lakes drinking pesticide and waiting for @TreatyStones to tell me should I tip down to the Europe for grub.

The grub in the Europe is ok but not brilliant. Stay where you are.

You’re in the aghadoe and hungry. Shake a tree and you’ll push pineapple.
