what about “the list”?

i have never forgiven him for his scurrilous insuations about Colm Cooper. Quoting an unnamed leading referee that rang him with " a list" about Colm Cooper getting handy frees. When asked a few basic questions to back up his claim about this phone call and list he was struck dumb. A few simple questions was all he was asked like

the identity of this leading referee
the number of frees on this list
if his unnamed leading referee had kept a list of the frees that Colm Cooper didnt get but should have got
if his unnamed leading referee buddie had a list that compared the number of handy frees Colm Cooper got viz a viz other leadimg forwards.

For a man that preaches about accountability and transparency, he had nought to back up his claims

that was reckless. granted he wasnt the only one but you expect a book author and former journalist to have reliable sources. Its all fun and games putting up you tube sketches ripping the piss out of the co board and taking them to task about this that and the other. The co board didnt cast dispersions on an all time great quoting an unnamed leading referee nor did they pronouce a man dead that was not dead

That is 100% spot on. SLR was a gossip girl of the highest order. No loss to any site. He was a clown anyway and had this so called fucking vision of Limerick being so called free of politics that do not exist in the first place. He will never be forgiven for smearing the good name of Limerick and its great officials with his books.

All this shit about study. Bullshit. He was out of his AFR comfort zone without Big Brother Liam to protect him and he swam into deep water so he gave up swimming. I for one am glad he is gone. No fucking loss to the internet.

There are plenty of us to give ye the real truth about Limerick GAA when things happen and not the slanted gospel according to SLR.

What a load of shit.He interviewed all the relevant parties and they told him what happened.Unlimited Heartbreak was the true story about how you fucked it up in Limerick.The truth hurts doesn’t it.

Unlimited Heartbreak is probably the best GAA book published in the past 10 years imo.

As for SLR, he will return once championship time swings around.

Harry and Billy are both right. The book is very good and a credit to SLR. SLR is also a gossip.

Oh except Harry, he’ll be back for the league. Also I don’t think that’s the old Billy.

I blame the fact he doesn’t drink on that. The old “never trust a man who doesn’t drink” saying rings through here. I do hope he comes back once the league action kicks in.

Though now I suppose Billy is here, we’re grand for the oul knowledgeable and insightful Limerick hurling posting.

the first sentence is spot on. Unlimited Heartbreak was an excellent book. Doesnt excuse some of the other girly gossip, drama queen type stuff though. who really did up that co board cartoon? was it SLR or did he just post it?

No idea, I didn’t see it actually. I’d welcome SLR back as an addition to the forum in stimulating GAA talk, but I’d still end up having a go at him half the time on some of his unnecessary criticisms of young players which did him no credit at all. That and the gossiping.
